Financial Appeal: The IPSC needs your help! Please become a regular contributor to keep our work going

The situation for the Palestinian people has never been as bad. At least 90 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces since the 1st October, many of them extra-judicially executed or shot during protests. Over 7,000 have been injured by live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas inhalation. Hundreds of Palestinians, including children, have been detained and illegally held. Military raids on Palestinian communities occur every day and night, as do attacks by illegal Israeli settlers.

People in Gaza are facing another winter living in the ruins of their houses and schools, unable to rebuild due to Israel’s cruel and illegal siege, while fishermen trying to eke out a living are being shot and harassed both by the Israeli and Egyptian military. In 2012 the UN produced a report warning that Gaza will be unliveable by the year 2020 – this is sadly becoming a reality.

Millions of Palestinian refugees continue to carve out an existence in refugee camps in the Middle East – and with the civil war in Syria, many have become refugees for a second, sometimes even a third, time. They are denied their UN mandated right of return by the Israeli state.

Despite all this Western governments, including our own, along with mainstream media outlets remain silent. Israel is not held to account for its violations of international law and crimes against the Palestinian people. This ensures that this appalling situation will continue.
The IPSC is proud to be part of the global, Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which aims to end Israel’s impunity and help ensure justice for Palestine. Dr. Omar Barghouti, a founder of the BDS movement in Palestine has said that “the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is doing excellent work”. But we need your help to continue this work!

The Israeli state is not just waging a war against the people of Palestine; it is now pumping millions of euros into its fight against supporters of Palestinian rights, including groups like ours. The IPSC receives no state or corporate funding, we are an organisation that relies 100% on the generosity of our supporters, and without such support we cannot continue to exist.

Thus the IPSC is appealing to our supporters to donate a minimum of €5 per month via Standing Order or PayPal. The aim is to get at least 100 new people to become regular contributors. This will raise an extra €6,000 per year and it will allow us to continue with our work in raising awareness about the situation in Palestine, and crucially, being a part of the struggle against Israeli apartheid and for freedom, justice, equality and peace for the people of Palestine.

We would also like to thank all those people who are already contributing on a regular basis; your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
