This talk by author and activist John Rose, which took place on Saturday 13th September in Cassidy’s Hotel in Dublin, analysed the role of Israel as a watchdog and enforcer for the United States in the Middle East. Rose also talked about the meaning of the Israeli ‘Protective Edge’ summer attack on Gaza, the response from international civil society, and the growth of the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign worldwide.

John Rose is the author of ‘The Myths of Zionism’ (2004), ‘Israel- the Hijack State’ (1986) and ‘Zionism’s Iron Wall’. He a lecturer in sociology in Lewisham and Southwark College and London Metropolitan University, and a respected crtiic of Israeli policies and the ideology Zionism.

The talk took place as part of a day school called ‘Palestine, War and Imperialism in the 21st Century‘ organised by the Socialist Workers Party.
