[Dublin] Nakba 67: Moving Gallery remembering Al Nakba (IPSC)

To mark the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, at 2pm on Saturday 16th May 2014 at 1.30pm, the IPSC will hold a ‘Moving Gallery’, where people will walk from St. Stephen’s Green (Grafton St entrance) to the Spire on O’Connell Street carrying large photographs from Al Nakba and Palestinian flags, and a giant key symbolising the Palestinian right of return to their homeland denied them by the State of Israel for 67 years.
The event will take place to commemorate what Palestinians call Nakba Day – held annually on 15th May* – which marks the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (‘Catastrophe’) which saw the expulsion of over 700,000 Palestinians, forcibly uprooted from their homeland in an act of ethnic cleansing that facilitated the foundation of the State of Israel
We are assembling at 1.30pm at the Grafton Street entrance to St. Stephens’ Green, and will set off down Grafton St towards the Spire shortly afterwards.
* As 15th May is a Friday, we have decided to hold this event on Saturday 16th to increase visibility.
