[Letterkenny] Emergency vigil for Gaza, humanitarian crisis worsens in Gaza. (DAFP)
Families in Gaza are living on as little as three hours electricity a day. Their only power plant shut down in April due to a lack of fuel. In June the Israeli authority halved the power supply to Gaza at the Palestinian Authorities request to reduce payments.
Once again its the ordinary Palestinians suffering the consequence of a ten year blockade. This is having devasting impact on the daily lives of peoples healthcare, water systems, ability to live and work.
Sometimes the generators fail in the hospitals when the power goes off, all the medical staff rush to ICU to try and keep the children alive manually, this is the reality of the situation. 96% of their water in undrinkable.
Hope to see you there, a peaceful vigil for Gaza… Sunday 24th September at the Station Roundabout, Letterkenny, County Donegal.
