Human Rights School Unwrapped (Trocaire)
The Development Education team in Trocaire invites you to attend this years Human Rights School Unwrapped, on Friday 8th of July, Renehan Hall, St. Patricks College, Maynooth from 11am – 2.30pm. It promises to be an informal yet highly informative event where we will showcase the journey of the week through inspiring Drama performances, challenging Art exhibits and eye opening Media pieces.
This years Human rights Summer School which will bring forty young people from all corners of the Island together as well as partners from Palestine and Pakistan, together to discuss, debate and explore the theme of “CONSUMERISM”. We will be examining the issues of Consumerism and Citizenship from a number of different angles using a variety of creative methods including Drama, Art and Media. In addition we will be focusing in on two specific case studies in Palestine and in Pakistan to see how our spending power can have a direct positive or negative affect on the lives of people on other parts of the Globe.
We will also be joined on the day by some inspiring guest speakers such as Fr. Peter McVerry and others from the world of business who have a lot to say on the whole area of consumerism.
