[Galway] #Nakba75: A Journey Through Palestinian Culture

Join us for a journey into the culture, customs and music of Palestine. We’ll showcase Palestinian traditional dress, song and poetry. Some typical Palestinian snacks and refreshments will also be available on the day at the Galway City Museum, from 2pm.
As we approach the 75th anniversary of the ‘Nakba’ (meaning catastrophe) when Israel declared itself a state and approximately 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their lands, we celebrate the richness of Palestinian culture that persists after decades of systematic violence and colonialism by the Apartheid state of Israel.
Participants will include Palestinian women who live in Galway and Irish women who have visited Palestine and fallen in love with the beautiful people and rich culture of a place which has been living under a brutal colonial regime.
This is a family-friendly event. All are welcome!
Hosted by the Galway Branch of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Fórsa trade union.
