[Dublin] Vigil at Israeli Embassy: 1 Year Later – Remember Israeli War Crimes in Gaza

7th July 2015 marks the first anniversary of last summer’s Israeli bombing and invasion of Gaza. This attack – which killed over 2,200 Palestinians, the vast majority of them civilians including 299 women and 551 children, and injured 11,000 – was an assault on the 1.8 million besieged people in the tiny coastal strip.

Please join us on Tuesday 7th July between 12pm and 2pm at the Israeli Embassy, 122 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 where we will be remembering the victims and the destruction, calling for an end to the ongoing illegal siege of Gaza which is slowly killing the people of Gaza, and demanding an end to the impunity the international community grants to Israel.

Despite well documented war crimes and other violations of human rights and international law by both respected NGOs and the UN fact-finding mission, Israel remains unpunished for its actions. As a recent article in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz correctly pointed out, the international community “doesn’t care about the Gaza Strip. No foreign government is currently pressuring Israel over it.” This impunity merely emboldens Israel, and ensures that more brutal attacks, more war crimes, more gross human rights violations against the Palestinian people will be perpetrated by Israel.

Join us to say ‘Enough! No More Impunity!”
