[Dublin] The History and Roots of the Israel Palestine Conflict (Open Learning Ireland)

The History and Roots of the Israel Palestine Conflict 11am – Friday 1st March, 12.30pm, Seomra Spraoi

This session will introduce participants to the land, culture, economics and geography of Palestine and Israel before going on to outline the two narratives underpinning the Conflict.

This session aims to introduce participants to the reality that the region is more than the Conflict while at the same time introducing some key perspectives that will enable understanding for the people on either side.

Facilitators: Freda Hughes

Freda Hughes is joint co-ordinator of the Palestine Education Initiative and former Chairperson of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign. She has many years experience as an activist and a teacher, has completed her master’s degree in development education, and currently works in promotion, public relations and media .

Open Learning Ireland is a voluntary group dedicated to creating a new free education space in Dublin. A place where anyone can go, to learn or to teach something they love, for free. To promote this idea, we run ‘pop-up’ events where we invite the public to come along and Learn Something; Share Something; Do Something. February’s event in coordination with AONTAS, featuring free workshops and classes, open to all.

This is a fun informal event, open to all ages, running during the course of AONTAS Adult Learning Week, February 25th – March 2nd, @ Seomra Spraoi, 10 Belvedere Court, Dublin 1
