[Dublin] Palestinian Culture Night with SAIED SILBAK to mark International Day of Solidarity With the Palestinian People

To mark UN International Day of Solidarity With The Palestinian People 2022 – and the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign’s 21st birthday! –  we present an evening dedicated to Palestinian culture, at which you will hear live traditional Palestinian music and poetry, sample Palestinian food, admire Palestinian art and embroidery, and even take part in some traditional dancing!

We are both honoured and delighted to be joined on the night by internationally-renowned Palestinian composer and oud player Saied Silbak, who will bring his unique interpretation, explanation and celebration of Palestinian folk music from past to present to Dublin; this is a performance you do not want to miss.

Saied grew up living under Israeli apartheid in the town of Shefa’amr in the Palestinian Galilee. He began studying music at an early age, holds a masters from London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and has a unique understanding of different types of music, from Arabic, Turkish and Indian to classical western styles. His signature sound, created through his artful ability to fuse these styles, has seen him perform around the world at festivals and concerts in the Britain, Palestine, Belgium, France, Morocco, Argentina and beyond. We are thrilled that he will now add Ireland to that list!

This is sure to be a magical, unforgettable and unmissable evening!
