[Dublin] Palestinian Crafts Night (TCD Arabesque & Knitsoc)
On Tuesday March 26 between 5pm and 7pm in in Eliz Room, House 6, Trinity College Dublin, join TCD Knitting Society and Arabesque Society to celebrate Palestinian weaving and embroidery as part of the Students’ Union Anti-Apartheid Week!
Palestine is a country which has a long and rich history of indigenous crafts and is particularly famous for its distinctive embroidery, which varies by each region. As the political conditions in the country become more and more oppressive, it is important to protect these historic traditions and the people fighting to keep them alive. We’ll be celebrating these greats crafts by sharing some sample patterns for you to try and bringing a few examples for inspiration, as well as some snacks and refreshments.
