BlueFire Street Fest is a free open-air intercultural arts festival that takes place in Dublin’s historic Smithfield Square, Ireland. It runs from 11am until 8pm in Smithfield Square, Dublin 7 on Saturday 21st September.
The festival is a non-profit social enterprise with a mission to promote social integration and cohesion amongst Dubliners across all cultural backgrounds.
Now in its 6th year and with the BlueFire Street Fest has refocused its artistic vision, expanded its team and taken a bold step in the direction towards becoming a more socially responsible and ‘conscious festival’.
As part of this, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is one of the organisations that has been invited to host a crafts and cultural stall, and will take part in both the workshops and short talks in the Speakers’ Corner. There will also be Palestinian music courtesy of Abdulaziz Abushark on qanun and Abdullah Al Bayyyari on oud.
2019 will see the festival and its community of young change-makers embrace a wider public discourse, exploring the impacts we have upon each other and on our planet.
The programme will feature the ‘Global Village’ food and crafts market and ‘Health and Harmony’ wellbeing fair, as well as a music and performing arts tent, street art murals and a speakers corner, an engaging talks and workshops programme, open dance classes, community group performances and a night time projection event; all free to the public.
