On the evening of Thursday 21 March, Ireland’s leading travel writer Dervla Murphy will visit Dublin to talk about her recently published book – A MONTH BY THE SEA: ENCOUNTERS IN GAZA (London: Eland, 2013) – in an open conversation with her audience. The discussion will be mediated by an interlocutor and will focus on Dervla’s time in Gaza and, perhaps, in the West Bank (the subject of her next book). Now in her early 80s, Dervla Murphy has written 24 books, beginning with Full Tilt, a record of her cycle from Ireland to India in the early 1960s. This meeting is a rare chance for an encounter with a legend of travel writing.
