[Cork] Une Vie Suspendue: Photo Exhibition by Asmaa Seba (IPSC)

‘Une Vie Suspendue – A Suspended Life’, an exhibition introduced by Algerian-Belgian photographer Asmaa Seba. Note different venues for the launch and the residency.
LAUNCH: 3.00pm, Saturday 7th June, Quay Co-op Meeting Room, 18 Cove St, Cork.
RESIDENCY: Two weeks from 9/6/14 until 23/6/14 in the Quay Co-op Restaurant, Sullivan’s Quay, Cork.
Admission free. Complimentary Palestinian food at launch.
Seba Asmaa spent 6 months in Gaza. Her exhibition comprises of 21 portraits of Palestinian women – all former detainees of the Israeli State. Their ages range from 30 to 75 years.
Each portrait is presented with the individual’s story giving the viewer unique access to each prisoner’s experience. The stories reveal how harshly the lifes of these Palestinian women were disrupted. The women were asked to hold an item that represents something precious in their lives.
