[Cork] Monthly BDS March – United against Apartheid and Occupation – Justice for the Palestinian People

Join the IPSC Cork branch for the monthly boycott demo, at 1pm in Daunt Square.
The Israeli government is continuing unabated in its violations of international law and human rights. It’s continuing to implement its apartheid regime while describing itself as the only democracy in the Middle East.
In Israel “democracy” means Palestinian are prevented from participating in an election that will deeply affect their lives, while Israelis living in illegal settlements constructed on Palestinian lands enjoy rights that they can only dream of.
Four innocent Palestinians were killed in the week leading up to the election.
Samir Awad is one of them. A high school student who wasn’t endangering anyone. He was murdered in cold blood. He was shot dead from close range last week by Israel Defense Forces soldiers: one bullet in his head, one in his back and one in his thigh. The soldiers who shot him will vote on Tuesday, they will never be brought to Justice.
We people of conscience can oppose Israel’s violations by advocating the boycott of Israeli companies, goods and services violating Palestinian human rights and international law.
Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2013 is our occasion for making our voice heard in Europe.
We must encourage the Irish Government to push for an EU ban on settlement goods.
