Bring smiles, laughter and magic to people in the dark!

Imagine that you’ve been trapped in the same 40km strip of land your whole life. Imagine that you usually don’t have access to electricity, and that clean water is rare and precious. Imagine that pollution abounds, and that unemployment is at the highest rate in the world. Now imagine that the people keeping you imprisoned here start dropping bombs on your city every few hours.

This is the everyday reality lived by people in the Gaza strip. Creative and social outlets like circus and theatre are vitally important in this environment. They provide a sense of community, skills, exercise, social engagement, and just something to look forward to when life is impossibly bleak.

In August, the Said al-Mishal Culture Centre, which served as a theatre and a training and performance space for the circus, music and dance communities in Gaza, was destroyed by an Israeli bomb. This was a direct attack on the heart of a community – an attempt to kill happiness and hope.

Come join Circus Factory Cork at our Cabaret for Gaza, a circus fundraiser to help the communities affected by this devastating loss. Join us for a night of dazzling performance, as our community comes together to help another rebuild itself. Be amazed by superhuman acrobats, laugh your socks off at our clowns, and let our performers entertain you. Tea, coffee and baked goods will be available from our cafe, and there are great prizes to be won from our raffle. A night of hope for people in conflict.

If you can’t make it on the night, please consider donating the price of your ticket to help bring happiness to people living in the dark.

All Funds raised from the event will be donated to the Gaza Circus Community and the Gaza Women’s Circus Hub.
