[Belfast] Visualising Conflict in Palestine (Imagine!)

How can images of everyday realities in the West Bank and Jerusalem help us talk about the Israel-Palestine conflict? What is the role of photography in communicating stories of daily life in conflict zones?

Please join us for this informal discussion, facilitated by Dr. Brendan Browne (Trinity College Dublin) and Dr. Julie Norman (Queen’s University Belfast), who have spent extensive time living and working in the region. The conversation will be guided by photographs of communities, daily life, and activism in Palestine, taken by Dr. Browne, Dr. Emma Keelan and Dr. Norman, as well as images recorded by young Palestinian photographers. Our speakers will share the stories behind the photos to inspire a broader discussion of the Israel-Palestine conflict and the impact of images in conflict areas including Northern Ireland.
