[Belfast] The Palestine Lectures #5: Campaigning, Activism and Education in the Israel-Palestine Conflict (Pal Ed)

On Tuesday 12th March you are cordially invited to the fifth lecture in the Palestine Education Initiative’s ‘Palestine Lectures Series’, entitled Campaigning, Activism and Education in the Israel-Palestine Conflict.

When: 7pm, Tuesday 12th March
Where: St Mary’s University College Falls Road, Belfast.

Description:

Tackling this most politicised of conflicts, Freda Hughes, activist, teacher and coordinator of the Palestine Education Initiative will explore the approaches and opportunities for providing activist driven development education. Based on her own experiences, Freda will outline an approach that moves beyond sterile political debates and instead grounds its activism and education on the universal values of human rights. This lecture will be of interest to anyone who wishes to support an approach which seeks justice for all people embroiled in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

There will also be opportunities for questions and discussion.

About the speaker:

Freda Hughes is joint coordinator of the Palestine Education Initiative and former Chairperson of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign.  She has many years experience as an activist and a teacher, has completed her master’s degree in development education, and currently works in promotion, public relations and media .
