[Belfast] Join the IPSC’s Palestine Float on the BIG March for a Fairer World

Time: 12:00pm
Date: Saturday 15th June
Location: Assemble at Custom House Square, Belfast (view map), Rally at Belfast City Hall (view map)
Organisers are calling for all people who want a fairer world to attend the march and rally to send a message to G8 leaders. The Belfast branch of the IPSC are planning to have a float on the demo with large banners mounted on a lorry together with posters, flags etc and a ‘wraparound’ banner calling for a boycott of Israeli goods. This as a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to put across our message to thousands of people, including the many media personnel from abroad who’ll be in town ahead of the G8.
After the demo we will be holding an ‘information afternoon’ in the Beanbag Studio, Northern Visions building, Donegall St. from 2.30-4.30. This will feature films, an exhibition and a bookstall. We will also try to create a Palestinian ambience with music and light Palestinian refreshments. More info on that event here.
We are asking as many IPSC members and supporters as possible from around the country to come to Belfast to support us on that day. We need people to ‘flank’ the lorry, to carry the posters we are preparing and to hand out leaflets.
(The march and Fairer World Festival is organised by the Northern Ireland Committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions)
