As Israel’s murderous new government continues its attacks on the Palestinian people, in Ireland we are getting ready to host Israeli Apartheid Week this March. Below you will see some of the great events taking place over the month. Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is a tool for mobilizing grassroots support on the global level for the Palestinian struggle for justice. Landmark 1000th Irish artist signs the “Irish Artists’ Pledge to Boycott Israel”

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) is delighted to announce that our ‘Irish Artists’ Pledge to Boycott Israel’ has just passed the 1,000 signatory mark, a hugely significant milestone in support for the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement. On July 11th, the Irish Seanad will be presented with a unique opportunity for Ireland to be at the forefront of ensuring international law is respected and states, including Israel, do not profit from the occupation of other countries. Sen. Frances Black’s Control of Economic Activities (Occupied Territories) Bill 2018 seeks to prohibit the import and sale of goods, services and natural resources originating in illegal settlements in occupied territories. WATCH: National Demonstration for Freedom & Justice in Palestine

On Saturday 10th June around 1,500 people from all over Ireland (and further afield) marched in a National Demonstration to mark the 50th anniversary of Israel’s occupation and illegal colonisation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) organised the event to convey a simple message, that  ‘100 years of injustice & 50 years of occupation is enough! The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) is calling on the Irish government to place an immediate arms embargo upon the state of Israel. We’re also asking our members and supporters to take action to help. Aside from signing our online petition, we would like people to send letters and emails to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Charlie Flanagan TD, and their local TDs and MEPs asking them to support the call for an arms embargo on Israel. Palestinian Land Day to be remembered in Dublin and Cork on Sat 30th March

On 30th March 1976 Israeli military forces shot and killed six young Palestinian citizens of Israel. These young men were among thousands protesting the Israeli government’s expropriation of Palestinian land. Thirty-seven years after the first Land Day demonstrations, Israel continues its expropriation and colonization of Palestinian land. Israel continues to expand its illegal settlements in occupied Palestinian territory, forcing Palestinians from their land. Palestinians also face dispossession and displacement inside Israel. 35 Oireachtas members sign petition on mass Palestinian prison hunger strike

35 Oireachtas members including independents and Deputies and Senators from all political parties and groups in the Dáil and Seanad have signed their names to a petition calling for an immediate response to the ongoing mass hunger strike of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. A cross party group of TDS will attempt to raise the matter in the Dáil under “Topical issues”.
