Report of Cork ‘Boycott Israeli Goods’ demo

On Saturday the 31st March members of the IPSC Cork branch engaged in a demonstration to promote the BDS campaign among the public. Members of the IPSC group met in Grand Parade at 1pm with microphones, Palestinian flags, a banner and distributed leaflets to members of the public. The leaflets show the most commonly sold Israeli products and brands and can be used as a reminder when shopping in super-markets. During the week of 20th to 27th February the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other groups marked the 8th Annual Israeli Apartheid Week with a series of actions and awareness raising events in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Belfast. NOTE: TOTAL PRODUCE IS NOT IN THE FINAL RUNNING FOR THE PURCHASE OF AGREXCO, therefore letters are no longer necessary on that specific issue. Today, the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign – on behalf of our partners the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC), a Palestinian civil society coalition leading a global boycott Israel campaign – has urged Irish fresh produce company Total Produce not to purchase ailing Israeli exporter Agrexco.
