The Media
Mass murdering war criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu, the butcher of Gaza, has emerged victorious in the Israeli general election, foisted to victory on the back of racist campaigning and a pledge for the permanent occupation of Palestine . As the IPSC pointed out, it really didn’t matter who came out on top in the election, the net result for Palestinians would still be occupation and apartheid – but the outcome is significant nonetheless. That Netanyahu and his party topped the poll for the third time in a row, and that the Zionist right in general did so well, should serve as … Continue reading →

Irish media continues to frequently ignore important stories emerging from Palestine-Israel, stories that are vital to context setting and framing during those times when the issue actually does hit international headlines. By ignoring such stories, which expose the true nature of Palestinian life under military occupation and apartheid, the media can only be considered to be complicit via their silence. Therefore the IPSC continues with our new weekly round up of the most important stories that you may have missed if your only source of information is the Irish mainstream media. #1. At least 2 Palestinians were among the 40 … Continue reading →

The IPSC deplores the brutal murder of the three young Israeli citizens whose remains were found on Monday near Hebron and the apparent ‘revenge’ murder of a Palestinian teenager reportedly carried out by Israeli extremists early Wednesday. Equally the IPSC deplores the deaths of all civilians killed in this conflict of unequals, including the six civilians killed by Israeli occupation forces since the Israeli teenagers were kidnapped. The IPSC is concerned that the unjustifiable killings of the three Israelis will be used to justify further killings, destruction and illegal settlement building in the occupied Palestinian territories (OPT) by the Israeli … Continue reading →

Yesterday, as media outlets focused on the outcome of the elections in Israel, it was business as usual in Israeli-occupied Palestine. Two Palestinians lost their lives at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces, bringing to six the number of young Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the past fortnight alone. These deaths have gone largely unreported in the Irish media and Israeli aggression continues apace. The Israeli government and its military continue to kill, maim and destroy lives and livelihoods with impunity, unchecked by the international community. Yesterday, 23rd January 2013, Lubna Munir Hanash, a young 22-year-old Palestinian woman … Continue reading →

As part of their attack on Gaza, Israel has conducted a media war in Ireland – media outlets have spoken to us of being ‘bombarded’ by Israeli press releases and having Israeli spokespeople continually haranguing them. As we’re sure you’ve noticed, this has led to a significant bias in media reportage of the issues – whether on TV, radio or newspapers. We need to redress this imbalance – Irish media outlets must be asked to provide a fair and balanced coverage. NOTE: You can download this document as a printable PDF here. Below, we have listed the main anti-Palestinian forms … Continue reading →
