The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) commends acclaimed author Sally Rooney for her principled stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people by refusing a deal with Israeli publishing house, Modan, which is complicit in that state’s crimes against the Palestinian people. We welcome Ms. Rooney’s position and her moral clarity in respecting the Palestinian BDS call for boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel until such time as it complies with international law and universal principles of human rights, ending its oppression of the Palestinian people. We are proud to count Sally Rooney among the now 1,342 artists who have signed … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) warmly welcomes the passing of a motion by Waterford City and County Council that the Waterford Metropolitan District will twin with the Ramallah Municipality in Palestine. We commend the work done by local activists in the South East branch of the IPSC to achieve this twinning which is another shining example of the unbreakable solidarity between the peoples of Ireland and Palestine. The process of twinning is invaluable in that it builds links between communities in both localities and the IPSC South East members have forged strong connections between Palestinians and Irish schools, trade unions, … Continue reading →

In the early hours of Thursday 29th July 2021, Israeli occupation forces raided the headquarters of Defence for Children International – Palestine, confiscating computers, laptops, hard-drives and confidential legal files related to child prisoners. The raid was conducted Israel’s notorious Border Police unit, which operates under the command of the Ministry of Public Security. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sent the below letter to the Irish government, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the Irish police force, An Garda Síochána, and the Ministry of Public Security through the EU-funded ROXANNE research programme. A similar letter was also sent to the Minister for … Continue reading →

Silwan is an area in Israeli-occupied and illegally annexed East Jerusalem that, like Sheikh Jarrah, is facing ongoing and imminent threats of ethnic cleansing. 1,500 Palestinians are under threat of having their homes demolished as Israel attempts to expel them and replace them with illegal Israeli settlers. This week the Apartheid State of Israel has begun a series of illegal demolitions in the area. The Irish government must both speak out and take concrete meaningful action – so we ask you to take one minute to send the below mail to Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney. Words are not … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomes the publication of a new report by the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence entitled “Demolitions and Displacements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.” The 112-page report, the product of several months of investigation by the Committee, is clear in its critique and condemnation of the illegal nature of Israel’s home demolitions, population displacements and settlement construction. The report also makes a list of recommendations (pp.47-49), most of which are broadly supported by the IPSC, in particular the calls for Ireland to: • Take steps towards realising its responsibility to not render aid or … Continue reading →

The ‘coalition of change’ is really just a ‘continuity coalition’ for the same old anti-Palestinian oppression, occupation, racism and war crimes. Much international fawning and fanfare has greeted the news that after 12 years in power in the Apartheid State of Israel, war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party has been ousted and replaced by a shaky coalition deemed the ‘government of change’, whose members range from liberal Zionists to far-right extremists. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sees nothing to celebrate in the changing of the guard in the nuclear-armed Apartheid state that continues to destroy the lives and livelihoods of the … Continue reading →

Both An Garda Síochána and the Police Service of Northern Ireland are engaged in an EU research project called ROXANNE, working in collaboration with the notorious Israeli Ministry of Public Security. CLICK TO TAKE ACTION! This is the Ministry responsible for both the Israel National Police (including the Border Police) and the Israel Prison Service. It oversees routine commission of serious human rights abuses and international law violations against the Palestinian people, and racism and violence directed at minorities within Israel. These well documented violations include brutal killings, the torture and imprisonment of children, medical negligence of political prisoners, … Continue reading →

Over 1,500 Palestinians from neighbourhoods in occupied East Jerusalem are facing threat of forced displacement and home demolitions by Israeli authorities. Children make up a large percentage of the families threatened with homelessness. Recently Israeli courts have ruled in favor of Israeli settlers and given four Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood until May to leave their homes. In the Silwan neighborhoods of Al Bustan and Batin al Hawa, a total of 21 Palestinian families are facing home demolition as soon as May 11th to make way for an Israeli tourist site. This is part of Israel’s larger plan … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomes last night’s recognition by the Dáil (Irish parliament) of the de facto Israeli annexation of those parts of the West Bank on which illegal settlements are built. We believe that this recognition represents a very important step towards accountability for Israel’s violations of international law, human rights abuses, and its commission of crimes against humanity, namely Apartheid and Persecution. We hope this will be a watershed moment, that others states will follow suit, and that our government and other states will immediately take action to end these crimes and our complicity with them, to … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has praised the publication of a new report by Human Rights Watch showing that Israel is committing the dual crimes against humanity of Apartheid and Persecution of the Palestinian people. The report, entitled ‘A Threshold Crossed: Israeli Authorities and the Crimes of Apartheid and Persecution’, is the latest in a long line of human rights organisations levelling similar charges against Israel, and also calls for international sanctions against the Israeli state and individuals implicated in these crimes. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sends solidarity greetings to Palestinians as they engage in an historic General Strike for Liberation across historic Palestine today, March 18 2021. We salute the Palestinians in the occupied territories, including Jeursalemites, and the Palestinian citizens of Apartheid Israel who are engaging in a strike for freedom. This strike cuts across political divides, and unites the forcibly separated Palestinians in common action in their homeland. Such strikes have a long history in Palestinians popular struggle – from the General Strike of 1936 against British imperialism to the weekly strikes during the first intifada against Israeli colonialism … Continue reading →

PUMA’s new marketing campaign, Only See Great, claims to spark a spirit of “optimism” and “hope.” Yet PUMA remains the main sponsor of the Israel Football Association, which includes teams in Apartheid Israel’s illegal settlements in occupied Palestine. On eve of AXA’s annual general meeting (AGM), United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Michael Lynk, called on the French insurance giant to fully divest from Israeli banks. The warning came as protests took place in Dublin and other European cities to demand AXA divests from Israeli banks that fuel apartheid. AXA currently invests US$6 million in four Israeli banks which finance the illegal Israeli settlements on confiscated land in the occupied Palestinian territory (OPT), including East Jerusalem. You Can Sign The Pledge to Boycott Axa Here! Speaking ahead of AXA’s AGM Mr Lynk … Continue reading →

Dear friends, unfortunately following legal advice we were forced to cancel our planned Rally for Palestine this Saturday, 15th May, Nakba Day. You can read about the reasons why in this article on TheJournal.ie We are obviously extremely disappointed and frustrated that the Gardaí have said that they will not allow a masked and socially distanced pandemic-safe protest to go ahead at a time when Palestinians need the people of the world to raise their voices against Apartheid Israel’s latest onslaught. So in order to avoid the potential prosecution of members, the IPSC will be organising a number of small … Continue reading →
