Take Action: Irish Government must condemn criminalisation of Palestinian human rights defenders by Apartheid Israel

On 22nd October, Apartheid Israel moved to criminalise and ban six prominent civil society organisations, an escalation in its systematic targeting of human rights defenders, and an attempt to evade accountability for its violations of international law. Click here to take action! The six organisations are: Addameer, Al-Haq, Bisan Center for Research and Development, Defense for Children International – Palestine, Union of Agricultural Work Committees, and Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees. Legal victory against European Commission paves way to ending trade with illegal settlements

On 8 September 2021 the European Commission registered a European Citizens Initiative (ECI) that calls to end trade with illegal settlements in occupied territories such as Palestine and Western Sahara. This only came after the organizers of the Initiative won a lawsuit against the European Commission, which had first rejected the initiative claiming a lack of competence. Their rejection was annulled by a humiliating decision of the European Court of Justice. What this means now is that over the coming months Palestine solidarity campaigners all over Europe will begin the hard work of collecting one million signatures from EU citizens in order … Continue reading

IPSC condemns attempts to criminalise and intimidate Palestinian human rights defenders

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) unreservedly condemns a military order issued last week by the Israeli Ministry of Defence that aims to criminalise and ban six prominent, highly respected and effective Palestinian human rights organisations. The groups in question are Defense for Children International Palestine, Al-Haq, Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, Bisan Center for Research and Development and the Union of Palestinian Women Committees. This is a dangerous and deplorable decision, the culmination of decades of the Israeli state’s attempts to smear, silence and shut down Palestinian civil society organisations and to … Continue reading

Israel raids Palestinian children’s NGO; Garda & PSNI collaboration with perpetrators must end

In the early hours of Thursday 29th July 2021, Israeli occupation forces raided the headquarters of Defence for Children International – Palestine, confiscating computers, laptops, hard-drives and confidential legal files related to child prisoners. The raid was conducted Israel’s notorious Border Police unit, which operates under the command of the Ministry of Public Security. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sent the below letter to the Irish government, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the Irish police force, An Garda Síochána, and the Ministry of Public Security through the EU-funded ROXANNE research programme. A similar letter was also sent to the Minister for … Continue reading

Take action to #SaveSilwan and #StopJerusalemExpulsions

Silwan is an area in Israeli-occupied and illegally annexed East Jerusalem that, like Sheikh Jarrah, is facing ongoing and imminent threats of ethnic cleansing. 1,500 Palestinians are under threat of having their homes demolished as Israel attempts to expel them and replace them with illegal Israeli settlers. This week the Apartheid State of Israel has begun a series of illegal demolitions in the area. The Irish government must both speak out and take concrete meaningful action – so we ask you to take one minute to send the below mail to Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney. Words are not … Continue reading

New Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs Report calls for Irish Government action on Israel’s illegal settlements, demolitions and displacement

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomes the publication of a new report by the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence entitled “Demolitions and Displacements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.” The 112-page report, the product of several months of investigation by the Committee, is clear in its critique and condemnation of the illegal nature of Israel’s home demolitions, population displacements and settlement construction. The report also makes a list of recommendations (pp.47-49), most of which are broadly supported by the IPSC, in particular the calls for Ireland to: • Take steps towards realising its responsibility to not render aid or … Continue reading

Take Action: Stop Gardaí & PSNI collaboration with Israel’s ministry of death, torture and racism

Statement of Solidarity with the Palestinian General Strike for Liberation

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sends solidarity greetings to Palestinians as they engage in an historic General Strike for Liberation across historic Palestine today, March 18 2021. We salute the Palestinians in the occupied territories, including Jeursalemites, and the Palestinian citizens of Apartheid Israel who are engaging in a strike for freedom. This strike cuts across political divides, and unites the forcibly separated Palestinians in common action in their homeland. Such strikes have a long history in Palestinians popular struggle – from the General Strike of 1936 against British imperialism to the weekly strikes during the first intifada against Israeli colonialism … Continue reading

Statement on the cancellation of our rally, and future actions

Dear friends, unfortunately following legal advice we were forced to cancel our planned Rally for Palestine this Saturday, 15th May, Nakba Day. You can read about the reasons why in this article on TheJournal.ie We are obviously extremely disappointed and frustrated that the Gardaí have said that they will not allow a masked and socially distanced pandemic-safe protest to go ahead at a time when Palestinians need the people of the world to raise their voices against Apartheid Israel’s latest onslaught. So in order to avoid the potential prosecution of members, the IPSC will be organising a number of small … Continue reading

Let’s tell G4S’s new owners that collaboration with Apartheid is unacceptable!

Earlier this month, US-based security company Allied Universal acquired G4S, creating the world’s largest security company. #StopG4S was launched by Palestinian civil society organizations in 2012, to support a historic hunger strike by Palestinian political prisoners. Trade unions, churches, and grassroots movements across over 25 countries joined the campaign that cost G4S contracts worth millions of dollars. The #StopG4S campaign has already shown its impact. In December 2016, G4S sold its subsidiary, G4S Israel, to the Israeli equity fund FIMI. Until then, G4S was responsible for running Israeli prisons, where Palestinian political prisoners are held without trial and subjected to … Continue reading

Watch: International Day of Solidarity With the Palestinian People 2020

Today, 29th November, is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The United Nations chose this day to mark the shameful day in 1947 when the UN voted to partition Palestine against the wishes of the indigenous people. 73 years on, the Palestinians continue to suffer the disastrous consequences of that imperial decision to allow the colonisation of Palestine. Also, on this day 19 years ago, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign was formed to stand in solidarity with Palestinian people. Our team of volunteers have worked tirelessly throughout these years for Palestinian rights. To mark this occasion we have produced … Continue reading
