Phew, what a week we just had! Tuesday 29th November was International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and this past week saw the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign organise events the length and breadth of the country, from Waterford to Sligo, Limerick to Belfast, Newbridge to Navan, and Dublin to Derry. In Dublin, on November 30th, to mark 21 years of the IPSC, there was a standing-room only Palestinian Cultural Evening featuring world renowned oud player Saied Silbak, alongside readings from Sen. Celebrate Palestinian Culture & Solidarity This November!

Every year the 29th November is celebrated as UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. This year, in the week leading up to it, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has organised a series of events focusing on traditional Palestinian culture and it’s role in resisting apartheid, occupation, and exile. Report: Cultural evening marking International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People opened by Lord Mayor of Dublin

On the evening of the 29th November 2017, to mark the UN’s International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Lord Mayor of Dublin and the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) hosted an evening of Palestinian culture in the Oak Room of the Mansion House, the Mayor’s official residence. Scores of IPSC campaigners, activists from other solidarity and human rights groups, and City Councillors, Senators and TDs gathered to experience a showcase of Palestinian culture in the form of music, song, poetry, and of course, food. WATCH: Poetry for Palestine event in Dublin

As part of PalFest Ireland 2016 festival, Irish poets read in solidarity with Palestine, and Palestinians living in Ireland read their favourite poems. The event took place on Friday 15th July 2016. The five featured poets, who read from their own work as well as  Palestinian poems of their choice, were Moya Cannon, Seamus Cashman, Catherine Ann Cullen, John Ennis and Adam Wyeth. Fatin Al Tamimi, chair of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and a photographer who has lived in Ireland since 1988, along with Palestinians Abdalluh Al Bayyari and Amany Yahia also read favourite poems from their literature. Listowel Writers’ Week refusal to accept Israeli state funding welcomed by artists and human rights campaigners

Today’s decision by Listowel Writers’ Week Festival to refuse funding from the Israeli Embassy in Ireland has been welcomed by artists, human rights campaigners and Palestine solidarity activists in Ireland, and is being hailed as victory for the growing Palestinian-led global Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS) movement. Poetic Injustice: Remi Kanazi mini-tour in Cork and Dublin (27-29 Nov)

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is proud to present  acclaimed Palestinian-American performance poet Remi Kanazi in Cork (27 & 28 Nov) and Dublin (29 Nov). Remi Kanazi is a poet, writer, and activist based in New York City.
