To mark the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, on Saturday 16th May 2014 the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign will held a ‘Nakba Moving Gallery’ on Saturday 16th May. Over 100 people – Palestinians, Irish and other nationalities – assembled at at the Grafton Street entrance to St. Stephen’s Green and walked to the Spire on O’Connell Street. Video & Images: IPSC protest in solidarity with Palestinians under threat in Yarmouk refugee camp

On the evening of Thursday April 9th 2015 a large number of members and supporters of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign held a protest in solidarity with Palestinians being attacked in Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria, which had been overrun by ISIS fighters. It took place outside the GPO on O’Connell Street in Dublin. Between 7th and 14th March 2015 the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign was proud to be a part of the 11th Israeli Apartheid Week, an annual international series of events including rallies, lectures, performances, films, multimedia displays and protest actions held in cities and campuses across the globe. This year saw over 200 cities taking part in 30 countries on all five continents. The aim of Israeli apartheid week is to raise awareness about Israel’s apartheid policies towards the Palestinians and to build support for the growing Palestinian-led campaign of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. 8000 strong petition handed to Dunnes Stores calling for a boycott of illegal Israeli settlement goods

On Wednesday 17th December members and supporters of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign handed in a petition signed by over 8,000 people calling on Irish supermarket chain Dunnes Stores to make a public commitment that their outlets will not stock goods produced in illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories. The petition – signatures for which were collected on streets around Ireland during 2014 – was initiated to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the 1984 Dunnes Stores anti-Apartheid strike by IDATU (now called Mandate) trade union members in Dublin’s Henry Street, and calls on Dunnes to support justice for … Continue reading

Pictures and Report: ‘It doesn’t take 20-20 vision to see apartheid’ protest at EU House

On June 8th 2014 the EU and Israel finally signed the Horizon 2020 association agreement which will allow Israel to be a party to the program that doles out research grants using EU taxpayer money. On Wednesday 18th June the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) held a symbolic lunchtime protest outside the EU Commission office in Dublin to highlight opposition to Israel’s accession to this agreement. Any EU agreement with Israel should be opposed so long as Israel is an occupier of Palestinian lands and remains a serial human rights abuser and violator of international law. Below are some pictures from today’s “Stand up to racism, celebrate diversity” march in Dublin, held to commemorate UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The IPSC was proud to be one of many supporting organisations of the demo, which was organsied by Anti Racism Network Ireland. Victory in Galway as NUIG Students’ Union votes to join BDS movement

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) has welcomed the passing of motion calling on the National University of Galway (NUIG) Students’ Union to actively participate in the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel until it ends the occupation of Palestine and complies with its obligations under international law. The motion, which reads in full “That NUI Galway Students’ Union actively supports the campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against the State of Israel.” was passed by an almost  2 to 1 margin (1,954 to 1,054 votes) during a student referendum held on March 6th. Some photos from the #StopPrawerPlan actions held around Ireland in Cork, Dublin and Limerick on Saturday 30th November 2013, as part of the international Day of Rage called for by Palestinian activists. The so-called Prawer Plan envisions the forced displacement of up to tens of thousands indigenous Palestinian Bedouin citizens of Israel from their ancestral land in the Naqab (Negev) desert in southern Israel and their removal to reservations, while the land is given over for the exclusive use of Israeli Jews.
