Irish chef withdraws from Israeli state-sponsored ‘Round Tables’ event

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has learned that Galway-based Irish chef JP McMahon, who was scheduled to take part in an Israeli Foreign Ministry-sponsored event in Tel Aviv this November, has withdrawn his participation. McMahon, along with several other international chefs, was due to attend ‘AMEX Round Tables’, an elite culinary festival sponsored by American Express, Dan Hotels and others, including the Israeli Foreign Ministry which flies top chefs to Israel for the event to ‘gastro-wash’ Israel’s image – the aim being to divert attention from its colonial occupation of Palestine and the apartheid regime it forces the Palestinian people to … Continue reading

WATCH: National Demonstration for Freedom & Justice in Palestine

On Saturday 10th June around 1,500 people from all over Ireland (and further afield) marched in a National Demonstration to mark the 50th anniversary of Israel’s occupation and illegal colonisation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) organised the event to convey a simple message, that  ‘100 years of injustice & 50 years of occupation is enough! Take Action in support of flying Palestinian flag on Dublin City Hall

On March 30th the ‘Protocol Committee’ of Dublin City Council voted unanimously to fly the Palestinian flag from Dublin’s City Hall between 15 May and early June 2017, in what Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) Chairperson Fatin Al Tamimi called “a heartening gesture of solidarity“. This historic decision was greeted with joy and appreciation by Palestinians in Ireland, in Palestine and in the diaspora. Watch: Dublin commemorates Palestinian Land Day with traditional style, dancing and food

Every year on March 30, Palestinians all over the world demonstrate their commitment to resisting Israeli occupation, apartheid and colonialism – and this year was no different, with a hugely successful event held on Dublin’s Grafton Street. Members of the public on one of Dublin’s busiest thoroughfares were treated to examples of traditional Palestinian culture – clothing, music, dabke dancing, poetry and, of course, food. A new series of talks on Palestine organised by Kildare IPSC

The Kildare branch of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) are delighted to announce a series of talks on Palestine and the Israeli occupation will take place in Naas over the next two months. The talks will take place on Monday evenings in the Town House Hotel at 8pm. The talks are free of charge though contributions will be gratefully accepted on the night. WATCH: Poetry for Palestine event in Dublin

As part of PalFest Ireland 2016 festival, Irish poets read in solidarity with Palestine, and Palestinians living in Ireland read their favourite poems. The event took place on Friday 15th July 2016. The five featured poets, who read from their own work as well as  Palestinian poems of their choice, were Moya Cannon, Seamus Cashman, Catherine Ann Cullen, John Ennis and Adam Wyeth. Fatin Al Tamimi, chair of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and a photographer who has lived in Ireland since 1988, along with Palestinians Abdalluh Al Bayyari and Amany Yahia also read favourite poems from their literature.
