Palestinian Citizens of Israel
The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity (IPSC) campaign stands with the millions of Palestinians all over the world who have condemned and rejected the Trump Administration’s so-called ‘Deal of the Century’, which yesterday was unveiled in full. IPSC Chairperson Fatin Al Tamimi, herself a Palestinian, said: “This is not a deal, this is a re-partitioning of Palestine accompanied by a list of unacceptable demands placed upon the Palestinian people insisting upon our total surrender; namely the renunciation of our human, national, democratic, territorial and economic rights – not least the right of return for millions of refugees, the right to self-determination in our … Continue reading →

Although long suspected, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) yesterday learned via news reports that the organisation is one of 20 human rights advocacy groups on an official Israeli state blacklist, meaning that its members are banned from entering Israel, and thus, from entering Israeli-occupied Palestine. The Israeli apartheid regime fears solidarity so much it seeks to stop us from visiting our friends and colleagues in the Palestine-Israel region. Although appalling, saddening and manifestly anti-democratic, the IPSC views its appearance on this list as a badge of honour and a vindication of our work in solidarity with the people of Palestine … Continue reading →

Today, November 29th, is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and we in the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) send greetings of solidarity from Ireland to Palestinians everywhere as they struggle for their freedom and self-determination. The UN chose this day, 29th November, to mark the shameful day in 1947 when the UN voted to partition Palestine against the wishes of the indigenous people – an act that would lead to the ethnic cleansing of over 750,000 Palestinians during the Nakba (catastrophe) between 1947 and 1949. 70 years on, Palestinians continue to suffer the disastrous consequences of that imperial … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has learned that Galway-based Irish chef JP McMahon, who was scheduled to take part in an Israeli Foreign Ministry-sponsored event in Tel Aviv this November, has withdrawn his participation. McMahon, along with several other international chefs, was due to attend ‘AMEX Round Tables’, an elite culinary festival sponsored by American Express, Dan Hotels and others, including the Israeli Foreign Ministry which flies top chefs to Israel for the event to ‘gastro-wash’ Israel’s image – the aim being to divert attention from its colonial occupation of Palestine and the apartheid regime it forces the Palestinian people to … Continue reading →

On Saturday 10th June around 1,500 people from all over Ireland (and further afield) marched in a National Demonstration to mark the 50th anniversary of Israel’s occupation and illegal colonisation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) organised the event to convey a simple message, that ‘100 years of injustice & 50 years of occupation is enough! It’s time for freedom, justice and equality for the Palestinian people!’ Click here to read the leaflet (PDF) we handed out to thousands of people along the way. Speaking at the rally outside the Israeli Embassy … Continue reading →

Kildare County Councillors will vote on Monday 29th May on a motion which will allow the Palestinian flag to be flown above the Council offices for a week in June. Independent Cllr Joanne Pender has proposed a motion which acknowledges recent moves in the Dáil towards full recognition of the state of Palestine and asks Councillors to supporting flying the flag for a week in June to mark 50 years of occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. The motion also references the 1,600 Palestinian prisoners incarcerated in Israeli jails who are on the sixth week of a hunger strike … Continue reading →

On March 30th the ‘Protocol Committee’ of Dublin City Council voted unanimously to fly the Palestinian flag from Dublin’s City Hall between 15 May and early June 2017, in what Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) Chairperson Fatin Al Tamimi called “a heartening gesture of solidarity“. This historic decision was greeted with joy and appreciation by Palestinians in Ireland, in Palestine and in the diaspora. However, the decision has still to be ratified at the next full meeting of Dublin City Council which will be held on Monday 8th May – it is not a sure thing, and your help is needed! … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomed today’s announcement that Dublin City Hall will fly the Palestinian flag between 15th May and June this year, following a unanimous vote by city councillors on the council’s Protocol Committee.[1] Obviously this move will cause extreme anger amongst the ranks of the small but vocal group of apologists for Israeli Apartheid in this country and DCC will come under a certain amount of pressure and intimidation, and so we are asking our supporters – especially those who live in Dublin – to please contact the Dublin City CEO Owen Keegan, the Lord Mayor of … Continue reading →

Every year on March 30, Palestinians all over the world demonstrate their commitment to resisting Israeli occupation, apartheid and colonialism – and this year was no different, with a hugely successful event held on Dublin’s Grafton Street. Members of the public on one of Dublin’s busiest thoroughfares were treated to examples of traditional Palestinian culture – clothing, music, dabke dancing, poetry and, of course, food. One observer said that it “was great to see these wonderful young people practicing their traditional dancing for everyone’s delight – and really enjoying themselves at the same time too!”Members of the public also stepped … Continue reading →
