Nakba
Airbnb just did the worst thing. After announcing they’d ban vacation rentals in illegal Israeli settlements from their platform, Airbnb did a complete reversal and will continue to allow rental suites on the ruins of Palestinian lives and land. This is Palestinian land that Palestinians are not allowed to enter, but Airbnb has decided they’re ok helping everyone else going to this stolen land for their vacations. This is a despicable decision, and we’re going to show them what we think of this with a Deactivate Airbnb day of action. We’ll take action on May 15th, Nakba Day – a day … Continue reading →

A petition signed by over 7,000 people which asks Ireland’s Eurovision entrant Sarah McTernan to pull out of the song contest in Apartheid Israel this week has been delivered to the singer ahead of her scheduled appearance in this Thursday’s semi-final. The signatures were collected online and on the streets over the past two months. The delivery comes a day after Galway City Council passed a motion supporting calls for a boycott of the controversial contest, noting that “it will be openly used for political and militaristic propaganda purposes”. Galway is the third local council to make such a call, … Continue reading →

We ask you to join our commemoration protest atcions which aim to highlight the issue of Palestinian refugees and their ongoing struggle for their UN-mandated Right of Return to their the homeland they have been illegally expelled and exiled from by the Apartheid State of Israel. Higgins, author Nell Regan, the indomitable community workers Rita Fegan and Fidelma Bonass at an International Women’s Day event in Dublin’s Richmond Barracks, organised by the St. Michaels Estate Family Resource Centre. Ms. Tamimi’s speech praised the role of women in the Palestinian fight for freedom, justice and equality, and located the struggle for Palestinian liberty within the broader struggle against oppression and injustice everywhere. Although long suspected, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) yesterday learned via news reports that the organisation is one of 20 human rights advocacy groups on an official Israeli state blacklist, meaning that its members are banned from entering Israel, and thus, from entering Israeli-occupied Palestine. The Israeli apartheid regime fears solidarity so much it seeks to stop us from visiting our friends and colleagues in the Palestine-Israel region. Although appalling, saddening and manifestly anti-democratic, the IPSC views its appearance on this list as a badge of honour and a vindication of our work in solidarity with the people of Palestine … Continue reading →

Today, November 29th, is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and we in the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) send greetings of solidarity from Ireland to Palestinians everywhere as they struggle for their freedom and self-determination. The UN chose this day, 29th November, to mark the shameful day in 1947 when the UN voted to partition Palestine against the wishes of the indigenous people – an act that would lead to the ethnic cleansing of over 750,000 Palestinians during the Nakba (catastrophe) between 1947 and 1949. 70 years on, Palestinians continue to suffer the disastrous consequences of that imperial … Continue reading →

Today the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) hosted a symbolic demonstration outside the British Embassy in Dublin to commemorate the centenary of the Balfour Declaration. At the gathering, the IPSC handed in a letter calling for Britain to take action to atone for its historic and ongoing role in Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people. On 2nd of November 1917, in furtherance of its imperial ambitions in the Middle East, the British Government under Lloyd George made a promise to the Zionist Federation that it would ‘establish a national home for the Jewish people’ in Palestine. This promise, contained in a … Continue reading →
