On the evening of Wednesday 18th January, the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) held a protest against an official Israeli parliamentary visit to the Oireachtas. This visit of two Israeli Knesset [Parliament] members and their entourage was kept secret by the Irish state until the evening before the two MKs arrived. With less than 12 hours notice, the IPSC organised a protest of over 40 pro-Palestine activists outside the gates of the Dail to coincide with the MKs’ official meeting with the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Tanaiste, Eamon Gilmore TD. The MKs were ushered in via … Continue reading →

Fintan Lane and Zoë Lawlor are now in the air en route to Istanbul! They will have to spend the night there, then will get a connecting flight tomorrow. No details yet about arrival time Dublin. Five others arrive tonight in Dublin Airport at 11.40pm. Hopefully the final seven will be home by tomorrow afternoon, but after today’s shenanigans, we’re not counting any chickens…

We must show the Department of Foreign Affairs that they are NOT doing enough either to support our friends in an Israeli prison, or to put pressure on Israel to comply with international law. The Irish Ship to Gaza Campaign has called for a demo outside the Department of Foreign Affairs, St Stephen’s Green, on Monday 7th November at 5PM. The Irish Ship to Gaza campaign is calling on the Irish government to take the following concrete actions against the state of Israel: (1) Suspend Israel from the Euromed Agreement, which gives Israel special trading status; (2) End all arms … Continue reading →
