Today is Nakba Day, which marks the 72nd anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (‘Catastrophe’) which saw the expulsion of over 750,000 people, two-thirds of the indigenous people of Palestine, forcibly uprooted from their homeland in a brutal act of ethnic cleansing that facilitated the foundation of the Apartheid State of Israel. Today, Palestinian refugees are trapped in an ongoing Nakba, many of them risking their lives crossing the Mediterranean to flee conditions in Syria, facing endemic poverty and discrimination in Lebanon, discriminated against as unrecognised internally displaced placed people inside the Apartheid State of Israel, subject to attacks by Israeli … Continue reading

On Saturday 28th October 2017 members and supporters of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign engaged in street theatre in Dublin’s Grafton Street shopping district. The action explored the experiences of Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season, which is underway right now. The period always sees an uptick in the number of violent attacks on Palestinian farmers and their olive groves by illegal Israeli colonial settlers, backed up by the Israeli occupation forces. 10 Years Too Long: Al-Haq campaign examines the effects and illegality of Annexation Wall

As a Palestinian organisation dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), Al-Haq has, for the past ten years, witnessed with growing  concern Israel’s continued construction of what Professor John Dugard, former United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories Occupied since 1967, has termed “the Annexation Wall.” Since the outset, the construction of the Wall in the OPT has faced international condemnation on the basis of its illegality under international law. In 2004, the International Court of Justice called on Israel to cease construction of the … Continue reading
