Since the beginning of 2023, three deadly raids have been carried out by the Israeli military in the West Bank cities of Jenin, Jericho and Nablus. These preceded the pogrom in Huwara and its neighboring villages. At the time of writing, 84 Palestinians have been killed by either Israeli occupation forces or illegal colonial settlers; an average of one person killed every day of 2023, 15 of them were children. This goes hand in hand with an increase in expulsions, house demolitions and a settlement expansion. Click here to send a message to Micheál Martin now! There must be a political … Continue reading →

Nine EU countries, including Ireland, issued a joint statement on Tuesday saying they will continue working with six Palestinian NGOs that Israel branded “terrorist organisations” last year, because Israel has failed to provide evidence to prove its claims. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign today welcomed the news. The nine countries are Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Holland, Spain and Sweden. The six Palestinian NGOs in question are Addameer, Al-Haq, the Bisan Center for Research & Development, Defense for Children International-Palestine, the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees and the Union of Agricultural Work Committees. The joint statement from the nine Foreign … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) condemned last night’s raids by Israeli occupation forces on the offices of six highly respected and effective Palestinian human rights organisations. These organisations were designated as “terrorist entities” by Israel in October 2021, a move that has been openly rejected by nine EU states, including Ireland. Late yesterday, Apartheid Israel’s forces raided the offices of the human rights organisations, confiscated equipment, documents and materials, sealed their doors, and left notices declaring them unlawful organisations and ordering them closed. In the office of Al Haq, the soldiers tore to the ground an Irish flag which had … Continue reading →

In July, despite Israel’s record of apartheid, human rights abuses and international law violations, the 27 EU Foreign Ministers voted unanimously to reconvene the EU-Israel Association Council for the first time since 2012. This is an entirely retrograde move that will serve only to embolden Israel in its denial of Palestinian rights and freedoms. The message it sends is clear; Israel can continue to act with impunity, and the EU – including Ireland – will not only ignore its continuous human rights abuses and violations of international law, but reward it with greater access to the EU centres of power. … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) has welcomed the publication of the latest report by Michael Lynk, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which states clearly that “Israel has imposed upon Palestine an apartheid reality in a post-apartheid world.” The Special Rapporteur’s report now joins others by Al Haq, Yesh Din, B’Tselem, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International in concluding that Israel is guilty of the crime against humanity of Apartheid. Help End Israeli Apartheid: Please take two minutes to sign our EU Citizen’s Initiative calling for an end to trade … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has praised today’s publication of a detailed new report by Amnesty International showing that Israel is committing the crime against humanity of Apartheid against the Palestinian people. The 211 page report, entitled ‘Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians: Cruel System of Domination and Crime Against Humanity’, is the latest in a long line of human rights organisations levelling similar charges against Israel. It calls for international sanctions, including an arms embargo, against the Israeli state and individuals implicated in these crimes, for the International Criminal Court to investigate Israeli Apartheid, and for the United Nations to re-establish the Special Committee against … Continue reading →

On 8 September 2021 the European Commission registered a European Citizens Initiative (ECI) that calls to end trade with illegal settlements in occupied territories such as Palestine and Western Sahara. This only came after the organizers of the Initiative won a lawsuit against the European Commission, which had first rejected the initiative claiming a lack of competence. Their rejection was annulled by a humiliating decision of the European Court of Justice. What this means now is that over the coming months Palestine solidarity campaigners all over Europe will begin the hard work of collecting one million signatures from EU citizens in order … Continue reading →

Silwan is an area in Israeli-occupied and illegally annexed East Jerusalem that, like Sheikh Jarrah, is facing ongoing and imminent threats of ethnic cleansing. 1,500 Palestinians are under threat of having their homes demolished as Israel attempts to expel them and replace them with illegal Israeli settlers. This week the Apartheid State of Israel has begun a series of illegal demolitions in the area. The Irish government must both speak out and take concrete meaningful action – so we ask you to take one minute to send the below mail to Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney. Words are not … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomes the publication of a new report by the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence entitled “Demolitions and Displacements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.” The 112-page report, the product of several months of investigation by the Committee, is clear in its critique and condemnation of the illegal nature of Israel’s home demolitions, population displacements and settlement construction. The report also makes a list of recommendations (pp.47-49), most of which are broadly supported by the IPSC, in particular the calls for Ireland to: • Take steps towards realising its responsibility to not render aid or … Continue reading →
