Irish Day of Action: Boycott Puma – Sponsor of Apartheid Israel (25-26 Oct)

Answering the Palestinian call for a global day of action, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other groups will be holding a series of actions around Ireland on the 25th and 26th October 2019. We are calling for a boycott of Puma due to their continued sponsorship of the Football Association of Apartheid Israel. The Israeli FA allows teams based in Israel’s colonial settlements in occupied Palestine to be members, despite the illegality of these settlements. Eurovision: 7000-strong petition asks Sarah McTernan to boycott song contest in Apartheid Israel as Galway City Council passes motion

A petition signed by over 7,000 people which asks Ireland’s Eurovision entrant Sarah McTernan to pull out of the song contest in Apartheid Israel this week has been delivered to the singer ahead of her scheduled appearance in this Thursday’s semi-final. The signatures were collected online and on the streets over the past two months. Irish chef withdraws from Israeli state-sponsored ‘Round Tables’ event

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has learned that Galway-based Irish chef JP McMahon, who was scheduled to take part in an Israeli Foreign Ministry-sponsored event in Tel Aviv this November, has withdrawn his participation. McMahon, along with several other international chefs, was due to attend ‘AMEX Round Tables’, an elite culinary festival sponsored by American Express, Dan Hotels and others, including the Israeli Foreign Ministry which flies top chefs to Israel for the event to ‘gastro-wash’ Israel’s image – the aim being to divert attention from its colonial occupation of Palestine and the apartheid regime it forces the Palestinian people to … Continue reading

To coincide with the visit to Ireland by Riya Hassan of the Palestinian BDS National Committee, the Ireland-Palestine Solidairty Campaign organsied a ‘Boycott Israeli Goods’ day of action on Saturday 26th September focusing on the chain retailer Tesco across the island of Ireland. There were Boycott Israeli Goods information stalls and leafletting of shoppers in a dozen Irish towns and cities including Dublin, Belfast, Limerick, Cork, Galway, Dungannon, Naas, Kildare, Newbridge, Ennis and Sligo. RIYA HASSAN TOUR: 10 years of the Palestinian BDS Movement – A decade of global resistance to Israeli Apartheid

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is excited and honoured to host a speaking tour featuring Riya Hassan, the European coordinator of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee in Palestine. The tour marks ten years since the BDS call was issued from Palestine by a huge coalition of civil society, trade union, faith and political organisations.

Report: Israeli Apartheid Week 2014

Between 1st and 8th March, Ireland took part in the 10th annual Israeli Apartheid Week with a series of events including meetings and protests organised by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC). On Saturday 1st March, the Dublin IPSC branch of the kicked off  IAW with a Boycott Israeli Goods day of action. We visited four city centre supermarkets, making consumers aware of their presence, the connection between these products and the occupation of Palestine and asking people to boycott them.
