Israeli raids on Palestinian NGOs designed to instill fear and silence

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) condemned last night’s raids by Israeli occupation forces on the offices of six highly respected and effective Palestinian human rights organisations. These organisations were designated as “terrorist entities” by Israel in October 2021, a move that has been openly rejected by nine EU states, including Ireland. Late yesterday, Apartheid Israel’s forces raided the offices of the human rights organisations, confiscated equipment, documents and materials, sealed their doors, and left notices declaring them unlawful organisations and ordering them closed. In the office of Al Haq, the soldiers tore to the ground an Irish flag which had … Continue reading

In a letter published in today’s Irish Times, 18 leading Irish and Palestinian human rights and Palestine solidarity organisations have called for Israel to immediately release Palestinian human rights defender and prisoner of conscience Mahmoud Nawajaa, the General Coordinator of the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement. “Mr Nawajaa is a human rights defender and community leader who has been imprisoned solely for exercising his rights to freedom of expression and association. He is therefore a prisoner of conscience, and he must be immediately and unconditionally released. Both the Irish Government and the EU must loudly echo this call … Continue reading

Make Palestine an EU & Local Election Issue!

It’s that time of year again, when politicians come knocking on doors looking for your vote. This May there will be European and Local elections in Ireland north and south. While domestic issues are, as always, likely to dominate the discussions, we believe it is vitally important that the issue of Palestine is kept firmly in the minds and mouths of all our politicians. The very essence of the Palestine solidarity movement is to ‘think globally, act locally’ – and we have seen impressive local support for Palestinian freedom by many local councils over the past decade. We need to … Continue reading

‘A heartening gesture of solidarity’: Decision to fly Palestinian flag over Dublin City Hall welcomed!

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomed today’s announcement that Dublin City Hall will fly the Palestinian flag between 15th May and June this year, following a unanimous vote by city councillors on the council’s Protocol Committee.[1] Obviously this move will cause extreme anger amongst the ranks of the small but vocal group of apologists for Israeli Apartheid in this country and DCC will come under a certain amount of pressure and intimidation, and so we are asking our supporters – especially those who live in Dublin – to please contact the Dublin City CEO Owen Keegan, the Lord Mayor of … Continue reading
