8000 strong petition handed to Dunnes Stores calling for a boycott of illegal Israeli settlement goods

On Wednesday 17th December members and supporters of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign handed in a petition signed by over 8,000 people calling on Irish supermarket chain Dunnes Stores to make a public commitment that their outlets will not stock goods produced in illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories. The petition – signatures for which were collected on streets around Ireland during 2014 – was initiated to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the 1984 Dunnes Stores anti-Apartheid strike by IDATU (now called Mandate) trade union members in Dublin’s Henry Street, and calls on Dunnes to support justice for … Continue reading

Photos & Report: Israeli Apartheid Week – ‘Boycott Israeli Goods’ day of action

On Saturday 1st March, the Dublin branch of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign kicked off Israeli Apartheid Week 2014 with a Boycott Israeli Goods day of action. We visited four city centre supermarkets, making consumers aware of their presence, the connection between these products and the occupation of Palestine and asking people to boycott them. We also handed in letters of protest to the management of each store, asking them to cease sticking Israeli goods. Report of Cork ‘Boycott Israeli Goods’ demo

On Saturday the 31st March members of the IPSC Cork branch engaged in a demonstration to promote the BDS campaign among the public. Members of the IPSC group met in Grand Parade at 1pm with microphones, Palestinian flags, a banner and distributed leaflets to members of the public. The leaflets show the most commonly sold Israeli products and brands and can be used as a reminder when shopping in super-markets. During the week of 20th to 27th February the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other groups marked the 8th Annual Israeli Apartheid Week with a series of actions and awareness raising events in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Belfast. Hi friends. The Monthly Palestine Street Awareness Campaign and march for Boycotting Israeli products is happening this coming Saturday 31st March, Daunt Square, Cork City at 1pm. Also, we will be distributing sponsorship cards on Saturday for our upcoming Hill Walk in the Galtee Mountains on the 15th of April if you would like to join the walk or know of anyone else who might be interested.
