AXA profits from Israel’s oppression of Palestinians. The French insurance company, the second biggest insurance company in the world, is active in 57 countries and has over 108 million clients. Sign The Pledge to Boycott Axa Here! Even though AXA has human rights and environment policies it invests $7 million in three Israeli banks named in the UN database of companies involved in business with Israel’s illegal settlement enterprise: Bank Leumi, Israeli Discount Bank and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank. These banks operate branches in illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian and Syrian territory (Golan Heights), providing mortgage loans for settlers and financial … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has condemned last night’s arrest and detention of well known Palestinian human rights defender Mahmoud Nawajaa (34), the General Coordinator of the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC). According to reports from Palestine, at around 3.30am last night, dozens of Israeli occupation soldiers stormed the village of Abu Qash near Ramallah, kicked in the door of Mr. Nawajaa’s house, handcuffed and blindfolded him in front of his family, and then hauled him off to Jalameh prison inside the state of Israel. The BNC is a broad coalition of over 200 Palestinian civil society organisations … Continue reading →

Earlier today, SumOfUs published the report “AXA: Financing War Crimes” which shows that the French insurance giant AXA invests over $91 million in Israel’s largest private security and military company, Elbit Systems, and Israel’s five main banks, which operate in and serve Israel’s illegal settlements. Elbit Systems, Bank Hapoalim, Bank Leumi, Mizrahi Tefahot, First International Bank of Israel and Israel Discount Bank all support Israel’s illegal settlements and associated infrastructure, in addition to the unlawful use of armed force against Palestinians. This makes AXA complicit in serious violations of international law. It also violates AXA’s own responsible investment policies. Send … Continue reading →

Today, November 29th, is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and we in the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) send greetings of solidarity from Ireland to Palestinians everywhere as they struggle for their freedom and self-determination. The UN chose this day, 29th November, to mark the shameful day in 1947 when the UN voted to partition Palestine against the wishes of the indigenous people – an act that would lead to the ethnic cleansing of over 750,000 Palestinians during the Nakba (catastrophe) between 1947 and 1949. 70 years on, Palestinians continue to suffer the disastrous consequences of that imperial … Continue reading →

It’s time for freedom, justice and equality for the Palestinian people!’ Click here to read the leaflet (PDF) we handed out to thousands of people along the way. Introductory note: The following statement, issued on 20th February 2017, outlines the position of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign towards the reported upcoming motion in Dáil Eireann concerning Irish recognition of a Palestinian state. This right is the foremost and most fundamental human right of the Palestinian people and it is the basis of the Palestinian national liberation movement. It is an inalienable right of all Palestinians – those in the Occupied Territories, Palestinian citizens of Israel and … Continue reading →
