‘Five Broken Cameras’ wins Irish Film Institute’s Stranger Than Fiction Audience Award

The acclaimed documentary film about the nonviolent resistance movement to Israel’s apartheid wall and settlements in the Palestinian village of Bil’in, Five Broken Cameras, has notched up another award – this time as part of the Irish Film Institute’s ‘Stranger Than Fiction’ documentary film festival. The film by Emad Burnat and Guy Davidi, won the Audience Award – meaning it was voted by film-goers as the best film in the festival. Palestinian women confront CRH Board at AGM, submit 10,000 strong petition urging divestment from Israel

This year’s CRH Annual General Meeting in Dun Laoghaire was again the scene of calls for the company to divest from its Israeli business interests which are involved in building the illegal wall and settlements in Palestine. Two Palestinian women made impassioned pleas from the floor asking CRH to heed the 10,000 signature strong petition calling for CRH to “Stop Cementing Misery in Palestine”.  The petition and demonstration were organised by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC). The writing is on the Apartheid Wall for CRH

Graffiti artists in Palestine have made it clear to Irish cement multinational CRH what they think of the activities of their Israeli subsidiary Mashav. Mashav, in which CRH holds a 25% stake, own Nesher cement – Israel’s sole cement manufacturing company. Nesher cement is used in the construction of the Apartheid Wall, Israeli settlements and related infrastructure, all declared illegal by the International Court of Justice in its 2004 ruling. PLEASE SIGN THIS IMPORTANT PETITION BY CLICKING HERE. We are asking the Ireland based company, CRH plc, to respect the human rights of the Palestinian people by divesting their 25% share of Israel’s sole cement producer, Nesher Cement Enterprises . ‘CRH and the Apartheid Wall Roadshow’ comes to Wexford’s Bullring

People walking into Wexford town’s iconic Bullring on Saturday 24th March 2012 found themselves face to face with sirens, soldiers manning a menacing checkpoint, and a scale model of Israel’s illegal West Bank wall. Video: ‘CRH and the Israeli Apartheid Wall Roadshow’ comes to Limerick

On Saturday March 10th the IPSC’s ‘CRH and the Israeli Apartheid Wall Roadshow’ came to Limerick for a street theatre event.  Members of the Limerick branch of the IPSC, as well as colleagues from the Dublin branch and friends from Clare and Galway, participated in the colourful event which attracted much attention from Limerick people. During the week of 20th to 27th February the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other groups marked the 8th Annual Israeli Apartheid Week with a series of actions and awareness raising events in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Belfast. Hi friends. The Monthly Palestine Street Awareness Campaign and march for Boycotting Israeli products is happening this coming Saturday 31st March, Daunt Square, Cork City at 1pm. Also, we will be distributing sponsorship cards on Saturday for our upcoming Hill Walk in the Galtee Mountains on the 15th of April if you would like to join the walk or know of anyone else who might be interested.
