Take Action: Stop Gardaí & PSNI collaboration with Israel’s ministry of death, torture and racism

Both An Garda Síochána and the Police Service of Northern Ireland are engaged in an EU research project called ROXANNE, working in collaboration with the notorious Israeli Ministry of Public Security.    CLICK TO TAKE ACTION!   This is the Ministry responsible for both the Israel National Police (including the Border Police) and the Israel Prison Service. It oversees routine commission of serious human rights abuses and international law violations against the Palestinian people, and racism and violence directed at minorities within Israel. These well documented violations include brutal killings, the torture and imprisonment of children, medical negligence of political prisoners, … Continue reading

Take Action to #SaveSheikhJarrah & #StopJerusalemExpulsions

Over 1,500 Palestinians from neighbourhoods in occupied East Jerusalem are facing threat of forced displacement and home demolitions by Israeli authorities. Children make up a large percentage of the families threatened with homelessness. Recently Israeli courts have ruled in favor of Israeli settlers and given four Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood until May to leave their homes. In the Silwan neighborhoods of Al Bustan and Batin al Hawa, a total of 21 Palestinian families are facing home demolition as soon as May 11th to make way for an Israeli tourist site. This is part of Israel’s larger plan … Continue reading

Let’s tell G4S’s new owners that collaboration with Apartheid is unacceptable!

Earlier this month, US-based security company Allied Universal acquired G4S, creating the world’s largest security company. #StopG4S was launched by Palestinian civil society organizations in 2012, to support a historic hunger strike by Palestinian political prisoners. Trade unions, churches, and grassroots movements across over 25 countries joined the campaign that cost G4S contracts worth millions of dollars. The #StopG4S campaign has already shown its impact. In December 2016, G4S sold its subsidiary, G4S Israel, to the Israeli equity fund FIMI. Until then, G4S was responsible for running Israeli prisons, where Palestinian political prisoners are held without trial and subjected to … Continue reading

Palestinian Prisoners’ Day – Tweet for Freedom!

Palestinian Prisoners’ Day – Tweet for Freedom!  Tomorrow, April 17th, is Palestinian Prisoners’ Day, when we stand in the solidarity with all Palestinian political prisoners in Apartheid Israel’s prisons.  Right now there are 4,450 Palestinian political prisoners held by Israel, including 140 children, 440 internees, and 37 women. It is these women in particular that we wish to highlight tomorrow, as part of a global online action coordinated by Addameer and the General Union of Palestinian Women. We ask you to join us in virtually marking Palestinian Prisoners’ Day. Palestinian Women Behind Israeli Bars Since the beginning of the occupation, … Continue reading

Take Action: Demand Israel releases Khalil Al Halabi – imprisoned without conviction for almost five years

Dear friends, My name is Khalil Al Halabi, the father of Mohammad Al Halabi, the former World Vision-Australia director for the West Bank and Gaza. Mohammad was arrested on false allegations in June 2016 and is held in the notorious Ramon Prison in Israel. UN experts have called for his release. I am calling on all friends of Palestine to participate in a Month of Action in January by sending the following letter to the Irish Government demanding action to secure my innocent son’s immediate release. Our family, including Mohammed’s five young children, are desperate to have him free and … Continue reading

Action on Annexation: Contact the Irish government to demand sanctions on Apartheid Israel

With the full backing of the US, and a virtual silence of the EU, from 1st of July, Apartheid Israel says it will begin the process of annexing some 30% of the Palestinian land it occupies, in total violation of international law. As this illegal annexation of large parts of Palestine looms, we’re asking people to mobilize to put pressure on politicians for real and meaningful action, not hollow platitudes, in defence of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination and freedom! Sign & Share the Avaaz petition First, we ask you to please sign and share this very … Continue reading

URGENT: As leaders meet TODAY to discuss OTB – Tell Leo Varadkar & Fine Gael it’s time to support the Bill!

The headline in today’s Irish Independent reads ‘Leaders meet with talks deadlocked over carbon taxes, housing and Israel’. The article goes on to say that a “crunch summit” TODAY “is expected to focus on proposals to ban the importation of Israeli goods produced in occupied Palestinian territories, as this issue has been passed on to the leaders after the negotiators could not reach agreement.” Your lobbying is working, together we have managed to push the Occupied Territories Bill to forefront of the government formation agenda! We are thrilled to hear that both Fianna Fáil and the Green Party have been … Continue reading

IPSC Statement: On Land Day Palestine stands on the brink of unimaginable tragedy

Dear members and supporters of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC), we hope that you and your loved ones are doing as well as you can be in these very difficult and uncertain times, we are thinking of you and send our best wishes to you all. Today we commemorate Palestinian Land Day, which marks the date in 1976 when Palestinian citizens of Israel were gunned down, six of them murdered, while protesting for their rights – and also marks the second anniversary of the Great March of Return in Gaza. Sadly, four decades later those rights are still to be … Continue reading

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) has welcomed the support from over 140 general election candidates for a series of election pledges supporting justice for the Palestinian people. At least 147 candidates, from most parties and many independents, have signed the three pledges, which were also endorsed collectively by Sinn Féin, The Green Party, Solidarity, People Before Profit, Rise, and The Workers’ Party. At least one candidate in every constituency endorsed the pledges, while in some constituencies some half to three quarters of candidates declared their support. The pledges call on candidates to Support a ban on trade with Israel’s illegal … Continue reading

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is asking our members and supporters to make justice for the Palestinian people an issue in the 2020 Irish General Election. We have produced a short handout with three important issues to raise with canvassers on the doorsteps, or to contact candidates about, and have initiated a campaign asking the candidates to take our three #PalestinePledges in support of the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom, justice and equality. Make Palestine an EU & Local Election Issue!

It’s that time of year again, when politicians come knocking on doors looking for your vote. This May there will be European and Local elections in Ireland north and south. While domestic issues are, as always, likely to dominate the discussions, we believe it is vitally important that the issue of Palestine is kept firmly in the minds and mouths of all our politicians. The very essence of the Palestine solidarity movement is to ‘think globally, act locally’ – and we have seen impressive local support for Palestinian freedom by many local councils over the past decade. We need to … Continue reading

Irish Day of Action: Boycott Puma – Sponsor of Apartheid Israel (25-26 Oct)

Answering the Palestinian call for a global day of action, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other groups will be holding a series of actions around Ireland on the 25th and 26th October 2019. We are calling for a boycott of Puma due to their continued sponsorship of the Football Association of Apartheid Israel. The Israeli FA allows teams based in Israel’s colonial settlements in occupied Palestine to be members, despite the illegality of these settlements. Puma claims to care about human rights, but its actions prove that it doesn’t. We need to send a message to Puma that their enabling … Continue reading

Take one important action: urge Fianna Fail to support Frances Black’s bill banning Israeli settlement goods

On July 11th, the Irish Seanad will be presented with a unique opportunity for Ireland to be at the forefront of ensuring international law is respected and states, including Israel, do not profit from the occupation of other countries. Sen. Frances Black’s Control of Economic Activities (Occupied Territories) Bill 2018 seeks to prohibit the import and sale of goods, services and natural resources originating in illegal settlements in occupied territories. It is imperative that people use this rare opportunity to lobby Senators and local TDs, especially Fianna Fail representatives. Fianna Fail hold the key – let’s get them to use it to … Continue reading

Take Action: Ask soprano Celine Byrne not to sing for Apartheid Israel

Dear Friends, Irish soprano Celine Byrne is scheduled to perform as Donna Elvira in ‘Don Giovanni’ with the Israeli Opera from February 8th to 23rd 2018. Such a performance would be a breach of the Palestinian call for a cultural boycott of Israel which asks international artists to refrain from normalising Israel’s regime of settler colonialism, military occupation and vicious apartheid by refusing to perform there. Since 2006 the Israeli government has been engaged in an aggressive public relations campaign known as ‘Brand Israel’ which, in the words of Nissim Ben-Shitrit, the former head of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, promotes “culture … Continue reading
