With the full backing of the US, and a virtual silence of the EU, from 1st of July, Apartheid Israel says it will begin the process of annexing some 30% of the Palestinian land it occupies, in total violation of international law. As this illegal annexation of large parts of Palestine looms, we’re asking people to mobilize to put pressure on politicians for real and meaningful action, not hollow platitudes, in defence of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination and freedom! Sign & Share the Avaaz petition First, we ask you to please sign and share this very … Continue reading →

As the United Nations holds its annual General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, join the global Twitterstorm between 2pm and 4pm TODAY calling on the UN to take concrete action to end state and corporate complicity in Israeli apartheid. This Twitterstorm is part of a week of action calling on the UN to investigate Israeli apartheid and to work to end it. Use the hashtags #UNGA75 #UNInvestigateApartheid #SanctionsOnApartheid The UN played an important role in bringing apartheid in Southern Africa to an end – investigating South Africa’s apartheid regime and imposing sanctions on it, but the UN has not yet … Continue reading →

From the first of July the government of Israel is planning to bring forth legislation to unilaterally annex Israel’s illegal settlements and the Jordan Valley region of the Palestinian West Bank. This constitutes an area of roughly 30% of the West Bank, and will be in addition to Israel’s already illegal annexations of Palestinian East Jerusalem and the Syrian Golan Heights. This is an attempt to re-partition Palestine, and represents the latest phase in the ongoing Nakba endured by the Palestinian people. The annexation plan eliminates whatever diminished prospect still exists of achieving a viable sovereign independent state. In its … Continue reading →

French insurance company AXA will hold its annual shareholders’ meeting on June 30. We need to make sure that divestment from Israeli apartheid is at the top of their agenda. Despite claims of social responsibility, AXA has almost tripled its investment in three Israeli banks that fund Israel’s illegal settlements. AXA also owns 9.03% of Equitable Holdings, which invests in five complicit Israeli banks and in Israel’s largest private arms company, Elbit Systems, which touts its weapons and surveillance technologies as “field-tested” on Palestinians. Just recently, the five Israeli banks were named in the United Nations’ list of complicit companies … Continue reading →

15th May 2020 was the 72nd Nakba Day, when Palestinians and their supporters commemorate the 1947-49 ethnic cleansing of Palestine. As we were unable to take to the streets with our ‘Moving Nakba Gallery’ like we do every year, this year we did something a bit different. Instead of showing the Irish public the realities of the ongoing Nakba, we wanted to show Palestinians – especially refugees – that we, the members and supporters of the IPSC, continue to stand in solidarity with their struggle for freedom, justice, equality and return – even if we can’t take to the streets … Continue reading →

Today is Nakba Day, which marks the 72nd anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (‘Catastrophe’) which saw the expulsion of over 750,000 people, two-thirds of the indigenous people of Palestine, forcibly uprooted from their homeland in a brutal act of ethnic cleansing that facilitated the foundation of the Apartheid State of Israel. Today, Palestinian refugees are trapped in an ongoing Nakba, many of them risking their lives crossing the Mediterranean to flee conditions in Syria, facing endemic poverty and discrimination in Lebanon, discriminated against as unrecognised internally displaced placed people inside the Apartheid State of Israel, subject to attacks by Israeli … Continue reading →

On May Day the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sends solidarity greetings to workers around the world. We wish to thank and pay tribute, in particular, to the frontline workers keeping the world going through the COVID-19 crisis. We salute you, and mourn those who have fallen. In Palestine, we look on in horror as Apartheid Israel continues its anti-Palestinian racism, exploiting cheap labour while denying rights and dignity of Palestinian workers. Palestinians who work in Israel displaying COVID-19 symptoms have simply been dumped at checkpoints, while Israel has failed to test Palestinian workers. The Palestinian Health Ministry has found that returning … Continue reading →
