Emergency Appeal: Help us to keep fighting for Palestine!

We hope you are safe and well in these fearful and uncertain times. We mourn all of those who have been lost, and send love and solidarity to all those who have lost. We know that for many of you these are difficult times both mentally and financially. Unfortunately, we are sorry to say, these are very difficult times for the IPSC too. We will be blunt – this year we stand to lose thousands of Euro as result of not being able to run our normal fundraising activities. With bills, rent and wages to pay, this represents a crisis … Continue reading

THANK YOU! You did it – we raised €10,000 and will be taking the EU to court over Israel’s illegal settlements

You. Have. Been. Amazing! Within 3 weeks we – the IPSC and our European Coalition partners in the ECCP – managed to collect over €10000 for legal proceedings at the European Court of Justice, where we’ll challenge European complicity with Israel’s illegal settlements. Thank you all so much for your generous support – and please keep an eye on our website and social media for further campaign and legal updates!

WE’RE TAKING THE EU TO COURT – And we need your support to do it!

Earlier this year a coalition of European Palestine solidarity groups attempted to use the European Citizens’ Initiative mechanism as a means to voice out our call for action against all illegal settlements. This is a mechanism under which 1 million European citizens can compel a debate on an issue of concern. In this case we wanted to see a proper debate on the EU’s legal obligations towards non-recognition of, and non-assistance to, illegal settlements in occupied territories, including Israel’s illegal settlements in Palestine. However, the European Commission refused to even register our Initiative! It is clear, the Commission doesn’t want … Continue reading

Things are getting worse for Palestinians – we need your support to keep fighting for justice!

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR WORK – BECOME A CONTRIBUTOR TODAY The Trump-Netanyahu Axis of Racism is an ongoing disaster for the Palestinian people. The Trump administration has enacted a series of harsh policies, including recognising occupied Jerusalem as the capital of apartheid Israel, recognising the illegal annexation of the Syrian Golan Heights, threatening the International Criminal Court, and cutting all funding to UNRWA, the agency responsible for providing education and healthcare to millions of Palestinian refugees. Meanwhile, attempts continue to brutally suppress Palestinian resistance, with almost 200 unarmed protesters deliberately shot dead and thousands wounded in Gaza, and thousands of prisoners … Continue reading

Things look worse than ever for Palestinians – we need your help to keep fighting for justice!

The Trump-Netanyahu axis has been a disaster for the Palestinian people. In an attempt to allow Israel to dictate illegal terms to the Palestinians, the Trump administration has enacted a series of harsh policies, including recognising occupied Jerusalem as the capital of apartheid Israel, threatening the International Criminal Court, and cutting all funding to UNRWA, the agency responsible for providing education and healthcare to millions of Palestinian refugees. Meanwhile, attempts continue to brutally suppress Palestinian resistance, with almost 400 unarmed protesters shot dead and thousands wounded in Gaza and thousands of prisoners – including hundreds of children – still in … Continue reading

Financial Appeal: The IPSC needs your help! Please become a regular contributor to keep our work going

The situation for the Palestinian people has never been as bad. At least 90 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces since the 1st October, many of them extra-judicially executed or shot during protests. Over 7,000 have been injured by live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas inhalation. Hundreds of Palestinians, including children, have been detained and illegally held. Military raids on Palestinian communities occur every day and night, as do attacks by illegal Israeli settlers. People in Gaza are facing another winter living in the ruins of their houses and schools, unable to rebuild due to Israel’s … Continue reading

Gaza: 4 simple things you can do to help end the slaughter

1. BOYCOTT ISRAELI GOODS From blood diamonds to dill, Israeli products are often available in Irish retail outlets. Revenues from these products help fund Israel’s apartheid regime and its war machine. Even when this round of slaughter is over, Israel will continue to oppress and kill Palestinians. For a list of Israeli products you can boycott and a sample letter to send to supermarkets see www.ipsc.ie/big You should also sign this online petition from Mandate, the trade union that represents retail workers, calling on all Irish retailers to stop selling Israeli produce! – www.tinyurl.com/mandatebig 2. WRITE TO THE IRISH GOVERNMENT Everyone can write to TDs … Continue reading

The IPSC’s work in 2012 – a brief review

To all IPSC members and supporters, As 2012 draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you  for your ongoing support for Palestinian rights throughout the past year. In 2012 Palestinians have continued the struggle for their human and political rights, whether through prisoner hunger strikes, the civil resistance campaigns in West Bank villages or the campaign for boycott, divestment and sanctions. Thanks to  your help, we have continued to raise awareness and support the struggle for freedom, justice and equality for the Palestinian people. It has not been an easy year for Palestine. In December, Israel … Continue reading

Action Item: Sign petition in support SV Estelle, the Swedish ship to Gaza

This summer, the intensified blockade of the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip has continued into its sixth year. The blockade—referred to as “the siege” by its victims—is a violation of international law and of the fundamental human rights of the civilian population in Gaza. The blockade has devastating humanitarian consequences for more than 1.6 million people, most of them children, on this coastal strip between the Mediterranean Sea and the Negev desert. SIGN THE PETITION HERE The blockade is illegal, inhumane and—from Israel´s point of view—counterproductive; it neither stops weapons from being smuggled into the Strip or missiles from … Continue reading

Action Item: Call on your MEP to reject new trade deal with Israel

On September 18 the International Trade Committee of the European Parliament is set to vote on a new trade agreement with Israel. If passed, the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) would remove barriers to trade between Israel and member states in industrial products, especially pharmaceuticals. Such an agreement would strengthen EU-Israel relations and would reward Israel for its continued violations of international law. The European Union claims to implement a policy of “positive engagement” with Israel. This policy has failed: despite numerous EU condemnations, Israel has continued its gross infringements of universal human rights with … Continue reading

Action Item: Petition – Vote no to the EU-Israel ACAA agreement

Please sign the following petition against the EU-Israel ACAA agreement which is being debated now in the European Parliament. The rejection of ACAA is important for the promotion of peace and justice. In its agreements with third countries, we believe that the EU should promote and respect human rights and fundamental values. The benefits brought by the adoption of such agreements should not be built on breaches of international law, unlawful or inequitable exploitation of resources and/or unfair and discriminatory practices. In the case of the EU-Israel ACAA, EU citizens do not want to benefit from Israeli control over Palestinian … Continue reading

Gaza family, victims of Israeli war crimes, appeal to British Queen to remove “blood diamond”

The Sammoni family, 29 members of which were killed by the Israeli military in Gaza in 2009, have issued an appeal to the British Queen to remove the Steinmetz Forevermark Jubilee Diamond which De Beers put on display in the Tower of London to mark the Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee. In total, 29 members of the Sammoni family were killed by the Givati Brigade of the Israeli army during the Israeli assault on Gaza (Operation Cast Lead) in December 2008 – January 2009. 21 were killed in a single airstrike on a building in which the family were taking cover, … Continue reading
