Apartheid
The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) condemned last night’s raids by Israeli occupation forces on the offices of six highly respected and effective Palestinian human rights organisations. These organisations were designated as “terrorist entities” by Israel in October 2021, a move that has been openly rejected by nine EU states, including Ireland. Late yesterday, Apartheid Israel’s forces raided the offices of the human rights organisations, confiscated equipment, documents and materials, sealed their doors, and left notices declaring them unlawful organisations and ordering them closed. In the office of Al Haq, the soldiers tore to the ground an Irish flag which had … Continue reading →

In July, despite Israel’s record of apartheid, human rights abuses and international law violations, the 27 EU Foreign Ministers voted unanimously to reconvene the EU-Israel Association Council for the first time since 2012. This is an entirely retrograde move that will serve only to embolden Israel in its denial of Palestinian rights and freedoms. The message it sends is clear; Israel can continue to act with impunity, and the EU – including Ireland – will not only ignore its continuous human rights abuses and violations of international law, but reward it with greater access to the EU centres of power. … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) has welcomed the publication of the latest report by Michael Lynk, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which states clearly that “Israel has imposed upon Palestine an apartheid reality in a post-apartheid world.” The Special Rapporteur’s report now joins others by Al Haq, Yesh Din, B’Tselem, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International in concluding that Israel is guilty of the crime against humanity of Apartheid. Help End Israeli Apartheid: Please take two minutes to sign our EU Citizen’s Initiative calling for an end to trade … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign has praised today’s publication of a detailed new report by Amnesty International showing that Israel is committing the crime against humanity of Apartheid against the Palestinian people. The 211 page report, entitled ‘Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians: Cruel System of Domination and Crime Against Humanity’, is the latest in a long line of human rights organisations levelling similar charges against Israel. It calls for international sanctions, including an arms embargo, against the Israeli state and individuals implicated in these crimes, for the International Criminal Court to investigate Israeli Apartheid, and for the United Nations to re-establish the Special Committee against … Continue reading →

The six organisations are: Addameer, Al-Haq, Bisan Center for Research and Development, Defense for Children International – Palestine, Union of Agricultural Work Committees, and Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) unreservedly condemns a military order issued last week by the Israeli Ministry of Defence that aims to criminalise and ban six prominent, highly respected and effective Palestinian human rights organisations. The groups in question are Defense for Children International Palestine, Al-Haq, Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, Bisan Center for Research and Development and the Union of Palestinian Women Committees. This is a dangerous and deplorable decision, the culmination of decades of the Israeli state’s attempts to smear, silence and shut down Palestinian civil society organisations and to … Continue reading →

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) commends acclaimed author Sally Rooney for her principled stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people by refusing a deal with Israeli publishing house, Modan, which is complicit in that state’s crimes against the Palestinian people. We welcome Ms. Rooney’s position and her moral clarity in respecting the Palestinian BDS call for boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel until such time as it complies with international law and universal principles of human rights, ending its oppression of the Palestinian people. We are proud to count Sally Rooney among the now 1,342 artists who have signed … Continue reading →

In the early hours of Thursday 29th July 2021, Israeli occupation forces raided the headquarters of Defence for Children International – Palestine, confiscating computers, laptops, hard-drives and confidential legal files related to child prisoners. The raid was conducted Israel’s notorious Border Police unit, which operates under the command of the Ministry of Public Security. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sent the below letter to the Irish government, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the Irish police force, An Garda Síochána, and the Ministry of Public Security through the EU-funded ROXANNE research programme. A similar letter was also sent to the Minister for … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomes the publication of a new report by the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence entitled “Demolitions and Displacements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.” The 112-page report, the product of several months of investigation by the Committee, is clear in its critique and condemnation of the illegal nature of Israel’s home demolitions, population displacements and settlement construction. The report also makes a list of recommendations (pp.47-49), most of which are broadly supported by the IPSC, in particular the calls for Ireland to: • Take steps towards realising its responsibility to not render aid or … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign sends solidarity greetings to Palestinians as they engage in an historic General Strike for Liberation across historic Palestine today, March 18 2021. We salute the Palestinians in the occupied territories, including Jeursalemites, and the Palestinian citizens of Apartheid Israel who are engaging in a strike for freedom. This strike cuts across political divides, and unites the forcibly separated Palestinians in common action in their homeland. Such strikes have a long history in Palestinians popular struggle – from the General Strike of 1936 against British imperialism to the weekly strikes during the first intifada against Israeli colonialism … Continue reading →

Today, 29th November, is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The United Nations chose this day to mark the shameful day in 1947 when the UN voted to partition Palestine against the wishes of the indigenous people. 73 years on, the Palestinians continue to suffer the disastrous consequences of that imperial decision to allow the colonisation of Palestine. Also, on this day 19 years ago, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign was formed to stand in solidarity with Palestinian people. Our team of volunteers have worked tirelessly throughout these years for Palestinian rights. To mark this occasion we have produced … Continue reading →
