On Saturday 31st January, the IPSC full page advert ‘Irish Call for Justice in Palestine’ appeared on page five of the Irish Times. The call, signed by over 350 people from all walks of life was funded by donations from the signatories. Read more
2009-01-10: IPSC Multi-Party Press Conference
On Saturday 10th January 2009 the Ireland Palestine Soldiruity Campaign hosted a cross-party public meeting and press conference on Gaza. Speakers at the event, which took place in the Mount Herbert Hotel, Sandymount, were Chris Andrews TD (Fianna Fail), Senator Ivana Bacik (Labour), Mary Lou McDonald MEP (Sinn Fein), Cllr. Deirdre de Burca (Greens), Richard Boyd Barrett (Irish Anti War Movement), Dr. Bassam Nassar (Palestinian Community) and Dr. Ahmned Al Habbash (Palestinians in Ireland). Philip O’Connor (Media Officer) and Marie Crawley (Chair) of the IPSC were also on the panel. Read more

2008-08-09: Letter from IPSC to members of the Joint Committees on Foreign Affairs and European Affairs
On his recent visit to the Middle East, Minister Micheál Martin raised Ireland’s concerns about the impact of Israel’s separation barrier on Palestinian economic and social development in the West Bank. Minister Martin is to be commended for doing so. However, in our view, the Minister should have gone much further and insisted that Israel should remove the barrier, which the International Court of Justice declared to be “contrary to international law” in its opinion of 9 July 2004. 2008-04-25: Letter from IPSC to members of the Oireachtas – 25th April 2008
The Association Agreement with Israel under the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership gives Israel privileged access to the EU market. Article 2 of this Agreement makes clear that this privileged access is conditional on Israel respecting “human rights and democratic principles”, which is said to constitute “an essential element of this Agreement”. 2008-03-17: Open Letter to the Taoiseach concerning Gaza
During the week commencing Wednesday 27th February, more than 120 Palestinians, including over 20 children were killed by the Israeli military. Human rights groups claim over half of the victims were civilians, that the air-assault was clearly an attack on a civilian centre and that as such it constituted a war crime under the Geneva Convention. 2008-01-26: Minister O’Dea expresses his amazement when shown the size of the Gaza strip relative to Munster
In just one hour on Saturday more than 100 people on Limerick’s O’Connell Street signed letters addressed to the Minister for Defence Willie O’Dea T.D. demanding government action to defend the rights of 1.5 million people besieged and under attack by Israeli forces in the Gaza strip.
