Factsheets, Letters and Reports

IPSC’s ‘Alternative CRH Annual Report 2009’ (May 2010)

During our intervention at CRH’s 2010 Annual General Meeting, we distibuted hundreds of copies of our 16-page ‘Alternative CRH Annual Report 2009’, which focused on CRH’s complicity with Apartheid Israel’s crimes and human rights abuses against the Palestinian people. Many shareholders read the document with interest, and a copy can now be downloaded here. Read the article about the IPSC’s intervention at the CRH AGM 2010.

[Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, 2009] The Apartheid Wall fact sheet provides basic information about the Wall, including location and costs as well as how the Wall is part of a network, which includes checkpoints, tunnels and settler roads. BOYCOTT From Within’s open letter to CRH: Divest Now from Apartheid Israel

[BOYCOTT!, 2010] We, at BOYCOTT!, a group of Israeli citizens, strive to stop our government’s human rights and international law violations, which have been facilitated by the cooperation of international companies. Your company has gone to great lengths in getting involved with the Israeli land and resources annexation, segregation and continued colonization of Palestine1. As you were told by your country’s Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC), by investing in the Israeli group Mashav Initiating and Development Ltd., you are profiting from the Israeli colonization of Palestinian territory and facilitating illegal settlement expansion and population segregation.

Repression Allowed, Resistance Denied: Israel’s Suppression of the Popular Movement Against the Apartheid Annexation Wall

[Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, 2009] This report provides evidence to show that injuries and deaths inflicted by the Israeli military at protests and activity surrounding them are intentional, not accidental. The reintroduction and heavy use of live ammunition and fragmenting bullets is a clear indicator that Israeli policy is designed to harm and kill, as is the regular firing of metal tear gas canisters directly at demonstrators. Furthermore, it is now increasingly clear that a significant proportion – if not a majority – of fatalities recorded in this report were the result of a qualitatively more extreme form of intent.

Summary of the ICJ Advisory Opinion on the Ilegality of the Wall

[International Court of Justice, 2004] Five years ago, on 9th July 2004, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declared Israel’s construction of the Wall in the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) to be “contrary to international law”. The Court went on to order Israel to “cease forthwith the works of construction of the wall” and “dismantle forthwith the structure” already built. It also called on Israel to “make reparations” for the “requisition and destruction of homes, businesses and agricultural holdings” and “to return the land, orchards, olive groves, and other immovable property seized” to construct the wall. This is the executive summary of the ICJ Ruling.
