Today is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The United Nations chose this day, 29th November, to mark the shameful day in 1947 when the UN voted to partition Palestine against the wishes of the indigenous people.

73 years on, the Palestinians continue to suffer the disastrous consequences of that imperial decision to allow the colonisation of Palestine.

Also, on this day 19 years ago, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign was formed to stand in solidarity with Palestinian people. Our team of volunteers have worked tirelessly throughout these years for Palestinian rights.

Today, we re-affirm our solidarity with all Palestinians in historic Palestine, with Palestinian political prisoners (women, men & children) in Apartheid Israel’s jails, and with the millions of refugees struggling to make their legally guaranteed Right of Return a reality by returning to their homes. And we reaffirm our support for the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions – BDS – Movement until Israel complies with international law.

As the threats facing the Palestinian people intensify day by day, our only response can be to give even more, and to do even more.

The Israeli government continues to press ahead with its gross violations of international law and Palestinian human rights, accelerating the ongoing colonisation of yet more Palestinian land.

Israel has continued to demolish Palestinian homes and buildings in the Occupied West Bank. 2020 has seen the highest level of Palestinian home demolitions in four years, despite the covid-19 pandemic, which has left over 400 people homeless many of who are children.

Earlier this month, Israel illegally destroyed the entire Palestinian village of Khirbet Hamsa al-Foqa – making 73 people, including 41 children homeless – in the largest incident of forced displacement in years.

Israel continues to subject Gaza to an ever-tightening land, air and sea blockade, making life insufferable for the nearly two million Palestinians there, the majority of them refugees from Israel’s ethnic cleansing, trapped in the enclave. Like Palestinian refugees everywhere, they are denied the right to return to the homes from which they, their parents or grandparents were expelled.

The Irish government must hold Israel accountable for gross violations of international law and take action by enacting the Occupied Territories Bill to ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements and sanctions Israel until it complies with international law.

The Irish police must end their collaboration with Israel’s Ministry of Public Security, which is responsible for killings, torture, home demolition and violent racism.

The Irish people know that when governments fail to act, everyday people like us must!

Tá Iosrael ag lean ar aghaidh ag sarú ar an dlí idirnaisiúnta, go háirithe an dlí in aghaidh na socraíochta mídhleathacha.

Anseo in Eireann táimid ag obair go dian ag iarriadh an Bille Frances Black – Occupied Territories Bill – bheith glacadh i Dáíl Eireann.

اليوم هو يوم التضامن الدولي مع الشعب الفلسطيني، 29 نوفمبر/ تشرين الثاني من كل عام والذي أقرته الأمم المتحدة، بعد ان أصدرت فيه الجمعية العامة قرار التقسيم المخزي سنة 1947

وهي مناسبة لتذكير العالم بأن الشعب الفلسطيني لا يزال صامداً فوق أرضه وعلى مدار أكثر من قرن من الزمان، مضحياً ومقاوماً ومتحدياً لاحتلال إحلالي صهيوني.

تتزامن الذكرى هذا العام، مع انتشار وباء فيروس الكورونا حول العالم، وهجمة استيطانية شرسه بدعم من قرارات امريكية تستهدف اضفاء شرعية على الاستيطان واحتلال وتهويد قدسنا الشريف
اضافة لخيانة بعض الدول العربية بتطبيعهم مع الاحتلال.

فبينما العالم منشغل بمحاولات القضاء على هذا الوباء، تواصل قوات الاحتلال الغاشم سياساتها العنصرية والقمعية تجاه الشعب الفلسطيني من اقتحامات واعتقالات وقتل وهدم منازل وتشريد واعتداءات متكررة على المزارعين وتقطيع أشجارهم ومصادرة أراضي وتشديد للحصار الخانق على قطاع غزة اضافة للمخاطر المحدقة بألاف الأسرى الفلسطينيين في سجون الاحتلال من جراء هذا الوباء.

وفي مثل هذا اليوم ايضاً، قبل ١٩ سنه، تشكلت مؤسسة التضامن الأيرلندي الفلسطيني IPSC من متطوعين أحرار في ايرلندا عملنا فيها خلال هذه السنوات دون كلل او ملل

وفي هذا اليوم، نؤكد التزامنا على الاستمرار في هذا العمل لمناصرة الشعب الفلسطينيي في نضاله من أجل حقوقه المشروعة في الكل الفلسطيني واللاجئين الفلسطينين وحقهم في العودة

كما وندعو المجتمع المدني لتكثيف الجهود لدعم حملة المقاطعة وسحب الاستثمارات وفرض العقوبات BDS
على دولة الاحتلال

ونطالب الحكومة الايرلندية والاتحاد الاوروبي بمحاسبة دولة الاحتلال على جرائمها اليومية في حق الشعب الفلسطيني وفرض العقوبات عليها حتى تنصاع للقوانين الدولية وتحترم الحقوق الفلسطينية والقانون الدولي .

كما وسنواصل نشر الوعي والضغط على الجهات المعنية شعبياً ودولياً من أجل المطالبة لحرية الأسرى الفلسطينيين وخاصة الأطفال والمرضى والكبار في السن منهم داخل سجون الاحتلال مؤكدين ضرورة العمل الفوري على إطلاق سراحهم حفاظاً على سلامتهم ونحمل الاحتلال المسؤولية الكاملة عن حياة أسرانا
