[Cork] “Reflections on a Voyage among the Dispossessed”: A talk by Declan Greenway
A talk by Declan Greenway will take place on Thursday 28th November in the Metropole Hotel Cork at 8pm.
A very personal reflection on living among Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank and Jerusalem, 1989-1999. This period included: the first Intifada, the Gulf War, Madrid peace talks, Oslo accords, the return of Yasser Arafat and the first PA elections. The personalities encountered and their context will be discussed.
Declan Greenway is a former Commandant in the Irish Defence Forces and, after retirement, spent 10 years working for the UN in Palestine before working for the OSCE, for whom he served as the Officer-in-Charge of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan. Currently he works as Independent Government Relations Consultant.
