eublind

Last week, one of the most prominent legal journals in the world, The European Journal of International Law, published an article on its website affirming that the European Union and its member states have a legal obligation to stop all trade with illegal Israeli settlements built on stolen Palestinian land. This indicates that opposition to trade with Israeli settlements is growing and becoming increasingly mainstream. As the EJIL article explains, Israel’s ongoing construction of illegal settlements on Palestinian land violates cardinal rules of international law like prohibit seizing of territory by force, forbid apartheid and population transfer as well as … Continue reading

‘A heartening gesture of solidarity’: Decision to fly Palestinian flag over Dublin City Hall welcomed!

dccflag

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) welcomed today’s announcement that Dublin City Hall will fly the Palestinian flag between 15th May and June this year, following a unanimous vote by city councillors on the council’s Protocol Committee.[1] Obviously this move will cause extreme anger amongst the ranks of the small but vocal group of apologists for Israeli Apartheid in this country and DCC will come under a certain amount of pressure and intimidation, and so we are asking our supporters – especially those who live in Dublin – to please contact the Dublin City CEO Owen Keegan, the Lord Mayor of … Continue reading

Action Item: Write to Minister of State John Halligan urging no collaboration with Apartheid Israel’s education ministry

gazaunschool

The Irish Minister of State for Training, Skills and Innovation John Halligan is on an official visit to the Palestine-Israel region at the moment. We are informed that as part of his itinerary he is due to meet Naftali Bennett, the Israeli Minster for Education, to discuss “innovation and education”. Bennett is one of the most reprehensible and racist figures in the current Israeli government, which itself is widely considered to be the most extremist in Israel’s history. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) believes that such a meeting should not take place, and furthermore, that there should be no cooperation … Continue reading
