On a dark, cold and dreary evening in Dublin, members and supporters of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) injected a little bit of lively colour into the twilight with a ‘Postcards for Palestine’ event. The event was organised at short notice to counteract an Israeli Embassy sponsored exhibition being launched in Dublin Civic Trust on Castle Street on Thursday 4th October inviting Dubliners to send postcards to Tel Aviv. The Israeli state sponsored event, shamefully held under the auspices of the Open House architectural festival, is the latest in a line of cultural propaganda events the state has recently staged … Continue reading →

This talk delivered by Palestinian member of the Israeli Parliament Haneen Zoabi MK was part of a tour organised by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and took place on August 7th 2012 in Wynn’s Hotel to a standing room only audience of over 160 people. This was a rare opportunity to find out directly from a public representative in the Israeli parliament how the self proclaimed “only democracy in the Middle East” truly functions. It was an informative and eye-opening experience, and will afforded those in attendance the opportunity to learn about issues relating to both the Israeli occupation of Palestine … Continue reading →

The Russell Tribunal on Palestine is an International People’s Tribunal created in response to the international community’s inaction regarding Israel’s recognized violations of international law. Following the sessions in Barcelona (which focused on EU complicity), London (on Corporate Complicity) and Cape Town (on the crime of Apartheid), the New York Tribunal will go back to the root of the conflict and focus on UN and US responsibility in the denial of the Palestinian right to self-determination. There will be live streams from New York on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October (starting at 3pm Irish Time every day) – use … Continue reading →

As a Palestinian organisation dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), Al-Haq has, for the past ten years, witnessed with growing concern Israel’s continued construction of what Professor John Dugard, former United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories Occupied since 1967, has termed “the Annexation Wall.” Since the outset, the construction of the Wall in the OPT has faced international condemnation on the basis of its illegality under international law. In 2004, the International Court of Justice called on Israel to cease construction of the … Continue reading →

Graffiti artists in Palestine have made it clear to Irish cement multinational CRH what they think of the activities of their Israeli subsidiary Mashav. Mashav, in which CRH holds a 25% stake, own Nesher cement – Israel’s sole cement manufacturing company. Nesher cement is used in the construction of the Apartheid Wall, Israeli settlements and related infrastructure, all declared illegal by the International Court of Justice in its 2004 ruling. CRH is aiding and abetting, and literally concretising, Israel’s apartheid policies against the Palestinian people. For more about CRH’s involvement, please see this section of our website. On Saturday 7th … Continue reading →

People walking into Wexford town’s iconic Bullring on Saturday 24th March 2012 found themselves face to face with sirens, soldiers manning a menacing checkpoint, and a scale model of Israel’s illegal West Bank wall. Luckily it was just part of a street theatre event organised by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) to highlight awareness of the day to day horrors being endured by the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation, and highlighting the role Irish cement multinational CRH plays in the building of Israel’s Apartheid Wall and illegal Jewish-only settlements in the West Bank. To sign the IPSC’s petition calling … Continue reading →

On Saturday March 10th the IPSC’s ‘CRH and the Israeli Apartheid Wall Roadshow’ came to Limerick for a street theatre event. Members of the Limerick branch of the IPSC, as well as colleagues from the Dublin branch and friends from Clare and Galway, participated in the colourful event which attracted much attention from Limerick people. The street theatre event was designed to raise awareness of Irish company Cement Roadstone Holdings’ complicity in the building of the apartheid wall, declared illegal by the International Court of Justice in 2004. Hundreds of people signed a petition calling on: “CRH plc, to respect the … Continue reading →

The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign marked International Women’s Day 2012 with a demonstration in Dublin city centre calling for the release of Palestinian hunger striker and political prisoner Hana’ Shalabi and celebrating women’s resistance to Israeli Apartheid and occupation. Independents Maureen O’Sullivan TD and Senator David Norris stopped by during the action to show their solidarity. Wearing locks over their mouths, solidarity activists assembled in the shadow of the Spire on O’Connell Street, and for two hours stood with banners, placards and leaflets (download PDF) calling for the release of Hana’ Shalabi, who was on the 22nd day of her hunger … Continue reading →

During the week of 20th to 27th February the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other groups marked the 8th Annual Israeli Apartheid Week with a series of actions and awareness raising events in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Belfast. On Saturday 4 February 2012, members of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign joined London human rights campaigners in Hatton Garden, the centre of London’s jewellery trade, to raise awareness among shoppers and jewellers about the continuing sale of Israeli blood diamonds. Note: A similar action is taking place in Dublin this weekend on Saturday 11th February. See here for details. Israel is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and exporters of cut & polished diamonds which generate more than US$ 1 billion (about UK£ 600 million) a year for the Apartheid State. Many jewellers falsely claim Israeli diamonds are “conflict-free” … Continue reading →
