Watch: ‘What We Saw In Palestine’ with Mike Murphy, Neilí Conroy, Harry Browne and Betty Purcell

On Thursday 9th November the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) was proud to host an important public forum featuring four well-known Irish public figures who discussed their experiences of four separate fact-finding trips to Israeli-occupied Palestine. The meeting saw former-RTE broadcaster Mike Murphy, actor Neilí Conroy, and journalist and lecturer Dr. Harry Browne in conversation with Betty Purcell, TV producer and Irish Human Rights and Equality Commissioner. Watch: ‘Life in Palestine’ 2018 calendar launched by Lord Mayor of Dublin

On Friday 10th November, the Lord Mayor of Dublin Mícheál Mac Donncha officially launched the 2018 ‘Life in Palestine’ calendar produced by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC). Also speaking were Ms. Jilan Abdalmajid, Deputy Head of the Mission of the State of Palestine to Ireland, IPSC Chairperson Ms. Fatin Al Tamimi, and Jim Bowen from the IPSC’s Cork Branch. WATCH: National Demonstration for Freedom & Justice in Palestine

On Saturday 10th June around 1,500 people from all over Ireland (and further afield) marched in a National Demonstration to mark the 50th anniversary of Israel’s occupation and illegal colonisation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) organised the event to convey a simple message, that  ‘100 years of injustice & 50 years of occupation is enough! Amid the inevitable deluge of whitewashed eulogies to former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres who died today, it is important to recall his real record in Israeli politics. Shimon Peres was the father of Israel’s illegal nuclear weapons program, and who offered to sell nuclear technology to Apartheid South Africa. In 1986 he oversaw the operation that led to the kidnap and imprisonment of Israeli nuclear whistle-blower Mordechai Vanunu, who has been a prisoner of Israel in one form or another ever since. Listowel Writers’ Week refusal to accept Israeli state funding welcomed by artists and human rights campaigners

Today’s decision by Listowel Writers’ Week Festival to refuse funding from the Israeli Embassy in Ireland has been welcomed by artists, human rights campaigners and Palestine solidarity activists in Ireland, and is being hailed as victory for the growing Palestinian-led global Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS) movement. In Pictures: Nakba 68 Protest in Dublin

On Saturday 14th May 2016 the IPSC held a march and ‘Moving Gallery’ to commemorate the Palestinian Nakba. Gathering at St. Stephen’s Green a large crowd marched down Grafton Street, around College Green over O’Connell Bridge and ended near the Jim Larkin statue outside the GPO on O’Connell Street. Protestors carried large photographs from Al Nakba, Palestinian and black mourning flags, and a giant key symbolising the Palestinian right of return to their homeland denied them by the State of Israel for 68 years.
