The people of Palestine need our support in their struggle for freedom and justice – and we can help by supporting the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel.

What Palestinian civil society has asked for is simple and in accordance with international law and human rights legislation – it is that Israel ends its military occupation, that it stops discriminating against Palestinians inside Israel and that it respects Palestinian people’s right of return to their own land. The Palestinian people ask for no more than we would expect for ourselves. They demand equality and justice.

About the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign

To support the Palestinian people, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign was established almost a decade ago by a group of established Irish human rights and community activists, academics and journalists deeply concerned about the situation in Israel/Palestine. We are an independent, non-party political organisation, run by volunteers all committed to a just and sustainable peace in the Middle East.

Over the past decade we have campaigned for justice for the Palestinian people through education, awareness-raising, lobbying, and campaigns. There are many ways people can get involved in our work, through donating, campaigning or through lending expertise. Our experience has shown us that the campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions called for by Palestinian civil society is the best way to achieve a just and peaceful solution. It is a moral, non-violent way to pressure Israel into respecting Palestinian rights and complying with international Law. Others in Ireland – whether NGOs, trade unionists, politicians, voters and consumers – increasingly agree with us and with the growing international campaign for boycott. In Israel too, there is a growing Boycott From Within movement, comparable to those brave white South Africans who in the dark days of Apartheid stood on the side of justice and supported the boycott movement.
